Game Thread Spurs (2-0) vs Nets (0-2) (Sun 10/26/25) [1:00 PM CDT]

Harper is earning himself a 5 today.

The game was sluggish and sloppy until he came in. Every minute he played he made shit happen.

He might have taken a little level up on that 14-0 run in the 4th in NO, but we'll have to see against better teams.

We should have very few minutes without a dynamic PG on the court when he and Fox are both in.

They started slow, looked half asleep. However, in the 2nd Q, they woke up and closed super strong.

Harper with the shrug.

Something I haven’t seen mentioned much to start the season… but Wemby (and the team in general) been a lot stronger on the glass to start the year. Wemby leading the league in rebounds isn’t out of the question.

Had me jumping out of my seat those last 20-30 secs in the first half starting with BigBody's monstrous put back.

You can tell they are boxing out with intention, especially wemby he's being quite emphatic everytime they shoot a triple

Dylan Harper is a genius player. Rarely have I seen a player capable of finishing with such dexterity under the basket. Except for... Castle and Tony Parker. Both of them are also excellent defenders, one is more fluid, while the other plays on his strength. When they, along with Victor, stop making all those unnecessary and dangerous passes, it's going to be tough. Victor also needs to stop freezing up on offense and play faster, combining speed and strength (which he's not doing at all here). He sometimes gives the impression that he receives the ball and then thinks about what to do with it... It's too slow, giving the defense time to adapt and predict what he's going to do.

Harper plays some inspired ball ... with his ceiling he leaves Castle in the dust

It's really not necessary to set them against each other. When Thomas was going off early, they stuck Castle really close on him and he was doing great blanketing him. They have different skill sets.

Too reasonable.. this is not what we do.. oh and btw tony>manu

It's gonna be really tough to figure out a rotation when Fox and Sochan get back. Like sure, with the way the NBA is, guys will have down games and need others to step up. But all three of the main healthy guards are playing well, and you have to add an All-Star to that group. You don't even get the relief of being able to play Vassell and Castle at SF big minutes, because Johnson and Champagnie are also playing well. Do the Spurs have 11 NBA players now? I'm not even counting Olynyk in that scenario, and he may still be in the playoff rotation if the team gets there.

Wemby doesn't box out usually, he gets in position and muscles opposing defenders too close to the basket and then go-go-gadgets the board over them

I’ll argue they’re a perfect pair. Harper to run the offense and make things happen, castle to provide the grit, defense, and cutting. What a future at the backcourt we have!

Oh to have these problems instead of debating to put Tre Jones at starting PG over Sochan
