Game Thread Spurs (0-0) @ Mavericks (0-0) (Wed 10/22/25) [8:30PM CDT]

Absolutely no beef with anyone staying at ST or being part of both. I check ST every now and then myself.

BB was created because ST was unreliable and we took matters into our own hands. I view BB more as an evolution of ST as opposed to an alternative. ST 2.0, if you will. If folks want to stay on the old version, that's fine... but it does appear that it's the equivalent of trying to find a match in an old COD 2008 lobby.
Don't bring up COD 2008 bro, thats all i did in HS. GSG, I hope im not yelling at Keldon today.

true hater mode is poopbox keeping a separate record for W-L without Sochan and posting it after every game. I mean, that’s next level… never seen folks this invested in hating a player since… Samanic.
I don't recall detesting a player from my bb team like I detest Sochan since I follow basketball in the 90' tbh
Sochan not playing really gives the spurs a chance to win. Now if keldon gets only clean up duty we’ll be set.
Keldon is one of the guys in form. We'll need him to have any hope of winning.

I like the dude despite some of his awful games, he gives it all, attacks the rim all the time and doesn't cheat.

He's a ball dominant player who had to adapt and learn to play off ball and also a 6th man role. I still hope he "adopts" this role without seing it as a sanction, bc he has the profile for it.

mitch basically confirms that its simply too early in the season to be reacting to other team's lineups, and we're trying to figure out/establish our own identity. on one hand, that makes sense, but on the other hand, point castle isnt really going to be very reflective of our identity once Fox is back. so you'd theoretically want to keep Castle in his off-ball spot and plug in harper. but you want to balance that interest with ensuring you can stagger your point guards and maybe not throw too much at harper too early

I just don’t think it’s feasible to expect keldon to gain 20 IQ points over a couple months and play winning basketball. Hope I’m wrong

Whats the 2nd team rotation going to be? Keldon, Luke, Harper...

Fox not being featured much in the thumbnail and the video is an interesting choice

“Sochan is an integral part of the rotation”

I would think they’ll go with a longer rotation tonight, hopefully Carter gets some run off the bench just to see how he responds to the moment

You can't expect that.

You can, however, take away as much decision-making/play making as possible if you manage him well on a human level so that he understands his role (Mitch's man management is the most important aspect I'm waiting to see tbh, Xs and Os are on the staff).

We need to use Keldon to provoke fouls, to relentlessly attack the rim, cut etc He's great at it and what you need for the 2nd unit

Like Sochan or Vassell he's a one trick pony with a lot of limitations but like the latter (at shooting the ball) he has a few elite skills that can be lethal if well used.

I haven't quit on Keldon, he's a dog and those are getting rarer.

He was one of five players pretty explicitly called out in the video (Wemby, Harper, Bryant, Fox, Keldon)... and the only player who's name was mentioned in the entire video. All of the game footage was from pre-season, so I'd say he was featured as much as anyone.

yeah with Waters out too, and the need for size, we might have some Carter Bryant minutes here and there. with Sochan/Olynyk/Waters being ruled out (in addition to the obvious Fox), they have to be resourceful. that or maybe some DJG, but im skeptical of that. they can have carter out there to just hustle, run, crash boards, and stay ready to shoot, whereas with DJG he needs to do a lot more to be relevant out there, and its probably not the place for him in the opener vs dallas

Just bet some money on the game. lol Fucking hate putting money on teams I root for but fuck it.

This team has me pumped this year.

Do the Mavs even have a bench? They have D'Angelo Russell and... Naji Marshall?

Starting lineup looks intimidating with the size but there's no depth. The Spurs second unit should run circles around the Mavs.

Harp is gonna feast.
