Game Thread Spurs (0-0) @ Mavericks (0-0) (Wed 10/22/25) [8:30PM CDT]

Kyrie returning, Flagg settling in, and having Gafford unlike tonight, how well does Dallas stabilize what we saw tonight? I'm sure they improve some. They still seem flawed in roster construction. They play in the shadow of the Luka trade and it doesn't look good.

They were built around Doncic and his outline is still there. Kyrie would help them immensely if he comes back healthy. They could use better perimeter defense and a good starting guard. DLO isn't it. I think they'll be around play-in territory.

he seemed pretty nervous throughout. he settled down somewhat but still blew a bunny or two at the rim, both his FTA, and committed 5 fouls in 22 minutes

but he'll only get better from here

Castle started pretty slow last year, only picked up after game 10 or so. Wasn't there a quote where he told Wemby that's when the game started slowing down for him?

yeah i dno how you could be mad about devin's performance. played really good defense throughout. offensively helped keep us afloat early when things were kinda choppy. he took a big backseat when wemby was erupting, but continued to make good and, just as importantly... quick decisions with the ball. none of the main character pounding the air out of the ball looking for a difficult stepback 2.

now, was his production worthy of 27 mil... probably not. but im sure bigger scoring nights will come. if he defends this well and makes good decisions with the ball, thats all you'd want from him

I wonder how many new members signed up during the game. Seemed like every time I checked we'd gain more members and lose guests.
I joined weeks ago when I saw the post about the move. Didn’t post much there and I mainly just lurk and read but am really liking the layout here. Glad the change happened, it was warranted and honestly overdue.

We need to put Vassell's contract out of mind. He got it when he was needed to be a lead guard on the team, but now as long as he's playing D and making solid plays that's what we need from him. He can't live up to the contract because the team evolved around him where guys on rookie deals are the stars.

I am the number one DV hater here. And I will continue to hate on him for at least this year. But he played a perfect game (for him/his role/what he should be) tonight.

If this is the new DV along with KJ, then sign me the fuck up.

Love that intensity from Mitch. It's like traveling back in time and seeing Pop in the glory days.
He actually reminded me of Doc Rivers with the way he was yelling during the timeout lol granted I think he will be better than Doc.
