Game Thread Spurs (0-0) @ Mavericks (0-0) (Wed 10/22/25) [8:30PM CDT]

Wtf did I just watch? Wemby did not meet my expectations. I was expecting a ho-hum 24-10 with a side of a W, but ended up watching a game’s worth of highlights.

That game was like a dream you would have of the game where absurd shit happens except it wasn't a dream. Castle going nuts, Dev and KJ not terrible, Dylan outplaying Flagg, Wemby 40/15. Can't believe we had DJG out there- with like 4 mins left in the 4Q. Total dream sequence level stuff but in real life and just game 1 and without even adding Fox yet. It's happening.jpg

Devin was pretty trash but I agree

I’m just now reading about Kevin Garnett trying to stir shit between Wemby and TD. According to him, they don’t get along and that’s why he sought his help instead. This has got to be bullshit, right?
KG's ego never recovered from Timmy's stare down and chuckle when he did his street shtick profane tirade before a playoff game. Always going to pick at that which he couldn't overcome in person.

Kyrie returning, Flagg settling in, and having Gafford unlike tonight, how well does Dallas stabilize what we saw tonight? I'm sure they improve some. They still seem flawed in roster construction. They play in the shadow of the Luka trade and it doesn't look good.

Will certainly be overlooked by Wemby's insane night, but after the first quarter and a half, Harper seemed to really settle in. Wasn't forcing AS much and set up some guys for some great looks. Was able to get to his spots late in the game too. This is definitely the best we've looked in YEARS, specifically our effort on defense and on the glass.

I think we made them look a lot worse than they are. They’ll compete well against teams without elite guards.

he seemed pretty nervous throughout. he settled down somewhat but still blew a bunny or two at the rim, both his FTA, and committed 5 fouls in 22 minutes

but he'll only get better from here
