News Project Marvel

Was thinking about that myself earlier when they were talking about the retarded moves he's made the past six months on ESPN radio tbh.
Apparently NBA board governors aren't eager about expansion with owners having to share revenues with two extra teams but they might be OK with one relocation.. Rumor has it the Benson family seem to be open to selling the team..Basketball never caught on in a football city despite the league handing out draft lottery foodstamps to the Pelicans..And, yeah, that Dumars trade was too egregious even for for his antiquated dumb ass hence the crazy theories are flying :st-lol:

Doesn't seem like it anymore as franchise values have skyrocketed thanks to the gambling ad money. This was Silver last time I saw him asked about expansion in an interview:

It would have to be a team like the Pelicans then with no basketball history tbh.

Is the land bridge still a thing or did it get removed? I was looking forward to that

Closer than I was expecting, but glad it got done. Thanks to all that voted (I'm in Austin so couldn't) and congrats to San Antonio. So glad this won't be something looming over this new era of the Spurs.

It’s scary how close Gina’s misinformation brigade came to stopping prop b. Her devouring mother archetype is fuccing disgusting

Looks like it got removed but hopefully it can get renegotiated in tbh. Would make a lot of sense for parking purposes; can easily use Alamodome parking as arena parking if it exists.
I'm thinking that it was a federal funding victim since the bridge spans over a US highway. Just an assumption though.

Honestly expected it to go down in flames 45-55 so thrilled it won 52-48.

I want the Spurs to stay. And I understand the argument that people are tired of the city being lame and inferior - and letting the Spurs leave would be a move in that direction.

But, the city is lame and inferior because among many reasons, historically, the politicians find ways to screw things up and build shit like they are swinging for home runs.

Like, I think the idea of a year round rodeo is preposterous and Plan A seems stupid to me and a huge waste of money. Once a year, sure. More than that, that's not my dream of a better San Antonio nor the one being sold in Prop B.

All the vague development around the new proposed arena will likely be an inflated mess because there is no real plan yet.

So, on one hand I'm glad we're closer to keeping the Spurs. But if anyone is expecting more than the Spurs back in downtown, I think disappointment will be coming.

Yes, a dour post because I think there is no simple victory with this proposal, as much as people want to think there is. If the mayor wasn't such a horrible communicator, there could have been a more substantive conversation about the issue and how to secure more of an actual deal that people would be voting for.

Fort Worth has year-round rodeo events and rakes in over a billion a year. The SA rodeo (routinely voted among the best in the nation) in a month brings in north of $330M a year. If it can bring in another $200M annually it'll be well worth it tbh.

I fully expect that to happen at some point tbh. It sounds like it largely got removed due to some federal funding issues likely cause by this moronic shutdown in part.

So what's the next step?

I had heard that Gina Ortiz wanted to put something else related to this on the ballot for next year.

It was removed before it but I think there will be plenty of support to put it back in.

This is going to be a giant win when it comes to the rodeo and the money brought in. People dont understand the economic impact that can be made year round. I expect there to be good half a bil in economic impact easily from this.
