Game Thread Playoffs Round 2, Game 1: Spurs vs Timberwolves (0-0) (Mon 05/04/2026) [8:30 CDT]

Wouldn't be surprised if Ayo missed the first couple of games tbh. Calf injuries are week to week.

In all seriousness, should be a good test for the Spurs. Still feeling pretty damn confident we roll them tbh.
Isn’t that the vipers scene where Tony and Chris are laughing about the fake tough guys 😛

Get the brooms!!

I'm glad he's playing. For one, Ant/Vic duels have always provided a ton of entertainment value. Secondly, would rather avoid the BS narratives that we'd inevitably hear re: the Spurs' playoff success if we beat an Edwards-less T-Wolves.

If this team is anywhere near as good as I believe they are, we should still win this series in 6 at the most. Otherwise we wouldn't have had a chance against OKC either way tbh.

OMG, that’s Crusty Schmarza. He’s still looking for that first piece of spaghetti to stick to the wall, and actually be a story. Take this with a very LARGE grain of salt.
I have the AI reporter blocked lol. Got lucky guessing about Fox and thinks he’s our shams. F him

How good will ant be defensively though? Can he keep up? If he’s trying to hide on champegnie then they gotta run him through screens

Even aside from Ant I think MIN poses some potential challenges for the Spurs and this could be a tough series. Ant now possibly going in game 1 as a morale boost makes it even more formidable. I'm confident in San Antonio. Still think Spurs will figure it out and advance, perhaps ultimately with relative ease. But I could see Minny battle a bit with us. Reid stretching out to the three point line, Randle's size and athleticism, If Ayo comes back healthy. Shannon Jr as an X factor. McDaniels was a beast in R1. Such a shame about Donte, really love what he brings as a 3 & D energy guy. People say DEN was that bad but MIN flexed some things regardless.

Shams said on Sports Center that Edwards progress was unprecedented and he would play tonight and had been pushing his doctors hard to give him clearance. Good. Glad to see their best on the floor against the SPURS! GSG.
Seriously. Maybe famous last words here but wish Donte was back too even if it was costly to my team. Injuries suck and I want to face full strength opponents.

Not going to lie, happy to see Edwards is playing. Don't want any asterisk talk; i'm confident Spurs will beat them even if takes takes 6 or 7 games.

When he gets full speed out there on the court with his knees that will be the test.

I wonder if Mitch will go to more Wemby-Kornet minutes in this series, we all know that Minnesota uses a four 6-10 guys lineup at times, and the Spurs had several rebounding and mismatch problems against Portland specially when switching screens…Barnes could become a factor and should get more PT, as well as CB (if/when he’s healthy).

If/when we play Rudy off the court, need to be able to punish the rim against a McD/Randle/Naz front court tbh.
