Game Thread Playoffs Round 2, Game 1: Spurs vs Timberwolves (0-0) (Mon 05/04/2026) [8:30 CDT]

Why the hell are the playoff games on Monday overlapping?
:st-lol:
They're overlapping every day, Adam Silver's NBA.

Me thinks Ant will be back for Game 3. Imperative that we take care of business and win the first 2 at home tbh.

We'll be doing Wolves a favor by taking care of business early.
Only poverty franchises risk their 24 year old franchise player with both bad knees in the second round.

Yes and why is NBC showing the Knicks instead of the Spurs on their local affiliate in the SA and Austin area. If there is NBCSN on cable it's subscription only. Milking as much money as possible out of us. Wonder if the WCF and Finals will be exclusive on Peacock.

Yeah, Ant is playing. Dude is obsessing about outdueling Wemby on the big stage and he's been open about it. Not sure that's good for the Wolves in his current shape

He's not playing in the first two games, it's just mind games.
For his sake I hope he doesn't play, but for the Spurs sake I hope he does, because he's clearly not even close to his best level.

Yea this is likely gamesmanship. I'd be really surprised if he plays in either of the first 2 tbh. I do think he'll play in Game 3 though.
Ant will just end up going to the locker room early again if he forces it.. That knee has been messed up for 2 months.. He is NOT getting healthy until this summer..

He's not playing before game 5 if at all. There's no real way to mitigate that injury and eliminate potential for re-injury. Once the tendons are weakened with micro fissures it's just asking for full blow shredded knees to try to push through it. This is just Damian Lillard is about to make an appearance type of BS

That's why I said only poverty franchises would risk their young franchise player in the second round.
Spurs would shut Wemby down until August if he had the same injury. :st-lol:
Oh yes Wemby would be done.. Pissed off about it but he'd be done. See you in training camp..

Yeah, I don’t know how much I’m buying this narrative that he’s nearing return. I think game 4 is best case scenario personally…he already looked clearly limited in round 1 and then suffered another injury on the other knee that surely made the medical staff wonder afterwards whether he should’ve been playing in the first place.

Ant is a young guy who seems to have one of the fiercest competitive drives in the league, so I guess we’ll find out soon enough. Smells like gamesmanship to me though.
