Game Thread Playoffs Round 1, Game 5: Spurs vs Blazers (3-1) (Tue 04/28/2026) [8:00 CDT]

Feels like we're kinda settling in back to our Feb-March form.

Would be nice if they put together an end to end dominant performance tomorrow to close out Portland and head into the 2nd round tbh.
I think Spurs going to whoop their ass from the jump. Only thing I'm worried about is if Portlands going to try to be extra physical/dirty.

I expect a close game tbh... Blazers won't go without a fight, they have now nothing to lose. Spurs will have to control physicality and for the love of god not cave a 15 pts deficit in the middle of the third... keep it close and finish with crowd energy in the fourth.
Nah... the team will have their instructions... Blazers owner doesn't want to have to pay the electric bill or staff for a Game 6... they'll throw this one.

I wanna see a beatdown. I want to see that Biyombo Plumlee lineup from last night with 8 minutes left in the fourth quarter.

I'm really close to deleting this topic because every time you open a new GT your effort is somehow even worse than the last time.

Spurs @ Blazers?
And learn to embed the GT widget already.

Not to mention that I had no plans of giving up my winning streak, but as per usual, you take the easiest matchups.
It’s your anal renetive thread title rules that make me copy previous ones, and I did edit it, probably before you dropped your fucking tantrum screed,

We're losing this game because you stopped my winning streak and then you're getting banned for making any more GTs.
Will be well worth it, tbh.

Let’s make this interesting. If the Spurs lose, I’m out of the GT rotation for the playoffs. If they win, you’re out for the same period.

Oh, and @scott basically invited me into the rotation. If you’re butthurt, take it up with him. Your thread was very n the heels of a @brazil win, so perhaps people in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones.

Why would I be out? I started a thread for a must win game before we knew if Wemby would play and we won.
On the other hand, you're the only thing that can stop the Spurs from closing the series out, tbh.

Because it was @brazil ‘s court to concede after his win.

Are you willing to take the bet, or will you just lean into your mod powers?

I think Keldon finally has a big game tbh. That 3 and dunk yesterday might have been what he needed.
I thought the same thing...really hoping that those couple of big plays he had in the 4th quarter will boost his confidence. Legitimately looked like one of the worst players on the court in games 1-3 and that shit won't fly once we're facing tougher teams.

Brazil isn't included in the winning streak thing, he's used only for special occasions.

My only "power" is fixing your low effort topic titles and opening posts.

So, that’s a “no” on the bet, then? Don’t want you not accepting, and then attempting to ban me from starting game threads. You have a chance to get me completely out of your hair, but it could cost you. All worthwhile things do…

Just to be clear, I don't give a single care about who starts the game threads, I'd be the happiest if I didn't start another one ever again, but your low effort openers are annoying considering some others (not myself) do it way better and you always open new GTs way too early.

What I do care about is telling you that your proposed "bet", where the odds are like 90-10% in your favor is probably the dumbest thing you ever posted in here.
Let's not derail the topic further.

You do an awful good imitation of caring…

Awwww. On that note. We gotta bring back the Klaw next year because he's done with the Clippers especially as he did literally everything right on an otherwise putrid team only for them to still just miss the playoffs. Idk if Harper would change his number but it'd be nice to see Kawhi end his career where it started and him be instrumental to another ring with us before he retires, which is sooner than later considering his injury history.

I think we could get him reasonably cheap on our end, similar to Finley in 2005/06 because the Clippers would be paying the majority of his contract/buyout. I assume?

And for people who hate on Kawhi: The Spurs were going nowhere with him in 2018/2019 anyway as the supporting cast was putrid post-DPG, and without Kawhi leaving we never get to draft Wemby, Castle, and Harper. Part of him leaving was wanting to play in his hometown for some years, which he did, but another part was he didn't want to be part of a sinking ship/rebuilding team and trading him was mandatory for the tank.

I say he's gotten to live a pretty fun and rewarding career and life. Almost DPOY as a rookie, won a championship with team that drafted him, got to play with the 2nd greatest NBA player of all time for several years, made some cool friends, got to lead and win Canada's only pro sports championship in the 21st century, then got to play for his hometown underdog team and lead them for many years. Coming back home would complete the arc and he'd win at least one last title here with the team who drafted him and many fans here still love him and have his jersey, including me.
Fuck No!

Kwitter quit on us. He can go to hell in his own handbasket.

Too many wasted words nobody cares about.
