I'm really close to deleting this topic because every time you open a new GT your effort is somehow even worse than the last time.

Spurs @ Blazers?
And learn to embed the GT widget already.

Not to mention that I had no plans of giving up my winning streak, but as per usual, you take the easiest matchups.
This is bad juju all around tbh.

Victor is shooting 54.5% on 3s in the playoffs so far. :st-tu:
Not really sure we should put much stock into that. He was lights out in game 1 and then has gone 1/5 since :st-lol:

The turning point of yesterday’s game was him not settling for jumpers and instead getting easy looks near the rim tbh.

Manu would say regression to the mean is inevitable.

But that's LDN in 2013 type numbers, especially the Finals that year.
Yeah, it's a very small sample, but still great to see him getting off to such a strong start in his playoff career.

Wemby's hands are insane btw. Real life alien shit.

Awwww. On that note. We gotta bring back the Klaw next year because he's done with the Clippers especially as he did literally everything right on an otherwise putrid team only for them to still just miss the playoffs. Idk if Harper would change his number but it'd be nice to see Kawhi end his career where it started and him be instrumental to another ring with us before he retires, which is sooner than later considering his injury history.

I think we could get him reasonably cheap on our end, similar to Finley in 2005/06 because the Clippers would be paying the majority of his contract/buyout. I assume?

And for people who hate on Kawhi: The Spurs were going nowhere with him in 2018/2019 anyway as the supporting cast was putrid post-DPG, and without Kawhi leaving we never get to draft Wemby, Castle, and Harper. Part of him leaving was wanting to play in his hometown for some years, which he did, but another part was he didn't want to be part of a sinking ship/rebuilding team and trading him was mandatory for the tank.

I say he's gotten to live a pretty fun and rewarding career and life. Almost DPOY as a rookie, won a championship with team that drafted him, got to play with the 2nd greatest NBA player of all time for several years, made some cool friends, got to lead and win Canada's only pro sports championship in the 21st century, then got to play for his hometown underdog team and lead them for many years. Coming back home would complete the arc and he'd win at least one last title here with the team who drafted him and many fans here still love him and have his jersey, including me.

No. They were on the court already. They didn’t break any rules and the refs kept them in the game. Just double tech.

thank goodness, but I remember Carmelo getting suspended for 15 games for similar shit back in like 2006. League definitely wants its stars on the court barring a Ron Artest type incident.

"Anybody but Amused" is the only valid Game Thread mandate tbh.

He gets our guys injured. He was responsible for the April 2011 injury bug.

Pretty big contrast from his fellow UCONN alum Clingan averaging 6pt/8reb/1blk on less than 30% shooting from the field and 16% from 3 this series tbh.
i like Clingan but he is getting run off the floor in this series. Obviosly wemby is a tough matchup for him, and he's not a good enough scorer/lacks the touch of somebody like Edey who can abuse small ball... but the fact that Kornet was having so much success warding him off in games 1-3 is a pretty bad omen.

clingan either needs to develop some form of a reliable jump hook or become a legit 3pt shooter

Feels like we're kinda settling in back to our Feb-March form.

Would be nice if they put together an end to end dominant performance tomorrow to close out Portland and head into the 2nd round tbh.
