Game Thread Playoffs Round 1, Game 5: Spurs vs Blazers (3-1) (Tue 04/28/2026) [8:00 CDT]

Gonna need KJ to wake up, he hasn't really left a major imprint on any games yet but still lots of games to be played hopefully.
I think KJ was a little rattled by the whole first playoff scenario. Being the longest Spur, town favorite for most, I think it affected him more and he wanted to come and ball out but was a little to anxious in my opinion. He did hit some timely shots though during the series. I think he will do better this next round.

It was a bad matchup for him. Blazers didn't have players he could bully and their rim protection is great.
I expect him to make up for it if the Nuggets advance, he's way stronger than anyone who's going to be matched up with him other than Gordon and they don't have any rim protection.

under-appreciated aspect of all this is our injury report is completely clean. to the extent guys have bumps and bruises, they'll now have close to a week off to recover.

im sure they'll have some high intensity practices to prevent any rust buildup, but in a league where title runs often come down to "which great team can stay healthy in may/june"... so far so good

It was no accident that he got to bang the drum. He's the heart and soul of the team, even if he doesn't put up the biggest stats.

He’s a poster in this thread, who doesn’t want to be picked on unprovoked. Seems a fair request to me. It would be fair if you made it too. What’s the problem?
Who said I had a problem? He is apparently important to you. I was curious, but not enough to go back and read through the drama.

Maybe. But we have seen him bully bigger players throughout the season. Maybe it was a combination of both.

Tiago did a great job all things considered. I'm not sure if he's HC material but obviously a talented mind to have on the bench.

If Portland doesnt remove the interim tag, I think he'll have his pick of top assistant gigs around the league and maybe a HC offer tbh.

Bruh. The fact that he's not even in the running of COY is weak.

whats with the imbalanced scheduling? in the spurs/blazers series, the only time the teams had 2 days off was between games 2 and 3. otherwise, it was going to be only one day in between games all the way thru game 7

but for nuggets/wolves, they had 2 days off between games 2 and 3, but also now have 2 days off between games 5 and 6. hawks/knicks have also had 2 separate two days layovers.

thunder/suns had 2 days off between games 1 and 2, and then again between games 2 and 3

lakers/rockets had 2 days of between games 1 and 2, 2 and 3, and now again between 4 and 5

Hard to juggle scheduling when your main directive is to give Doncic as much time as possible to recover tbh. :st-lol:

I am thrilled to see Fox can close out big playoff games if needed. For sure it gets much harder from here But still.. Good stuff..
