Leaning to him being a late scratch with Wemby fighting hard to play..
If they cleared him medically he’s going to play. I can’t imagine the Spurs being crazy enough to tell him he can’t play when the doctor said he’s fine. That would really piss him off. This is the playoffs. Not a game in January.Leaning to him being a late scratch with Wemby fighting hard to play..
i know but our medical staff will always err on the side of extreme caution..They will sell him on short turnaround for Game 4. I expect Wemby to not yield easily and hope he wins them over.If they cleared him medically he’s going to play. I understand, but that could really piss him off something bad. The competitive nature of him. If the doctor says he’s good to go you need to let the man play.i know but our medical staff will always err on the side of extreme caution..They will sell him on short turnaround for Game 4. Yes, but he is talking about the typical cautionary measures of the spurs medical staff.Doesn’t the league have the final say if he plays or not?
This is exactly why I’m not a fan of him playing soon. This is not the type of injury where you can just do some tests or scans and determine if he’s fully recovered, and it’s especially not the type of injury where he should be returning before he’s fully recovered. Hopeful this just gamesmanship and Wemby is not playing tonight.I highly recommend people listen to the latest Kevin O’Connor Show, even if you’re not a fan of his takes, because he has a host who talks about a recent trend discussed by Dr. Chris Nowinski. There is a correlation between players returning from a concussion and a subsequent lower body injury. They didn’t go into detail, but I would guess since it’s the region farthest from the brain, the coordination there suffers. Hopefully it’s not directly correlated and just a coincidence, but it’s one of the reasons why limited minutes would be ideal if he suits up tonight. I’m not a huge fan of people saying if he’s cleared, that means he’s 100%.
This is the only reasonable viewpoint. If people here think that the Spurs aren’t going to do what’s right by Wemby or that some random Twitter doctors are aware of risks that the Spurs’ staff doesn’t know about…then I don’t know what to tell them.I'm torn on whether I want Wemby to play.
In the end I will just trust the medical staff.
