Game Thread Playoffs Round 1, Game 2: Spurs vs Blazers (1-0) (Tue 04/21/2026) [7:00 CDT]

I'm not ready to pile on because its not just his fault but this one game is way more of a factor than 20 regular season games. He needs to do more in these games without Wemby. I expect the jitters from Steph. But Fox needs to do better.
Youre one of the biggest positive mental attitude guys in the site and Ive found it annoying at times. But maybe being positive right now is all we can do tbh.

Because it’s looking grim if Wemby is out for the next 2 games.

Either they win game 3 in Portland or this series might be a wrap tbh (unless Wemby is able to come back).

Mitch is more emotional than I've seen this season now that the playoffs have commenced
Not sure that is helping

Man I’ve never been impressed with any out of timeout play we’ve ever ran. Nothing ever clever or good, always something basic, ineffective, and rarely leads to a basket. Gonna be tough to live with those the further we go in (if we go in :st-cry: )

I recall someone on here saying that we could use a 3rd string center who is serviceable
Might be something to that

lots of people have said for months that giving charity contracts to guys who aren't real NBA players was a bad idea

had a chance to do something about it at the deadline but We Like What We Have prevailed as per usual

The "everybody's balls shrivel up and are afraid to take a shot in crunch time" offense.
we were literally trying to run out the clock with like 5 minutes to go, no plays called, nothing. just dribble out until 8 seconds, find Kornet at the top of the key and heave desperation shots. A lot of this is on Mitch TBH

Welp.
This is mostly on the coaching staff with the way the team collectively lost its head in the final 3 minutes, allowing for consecutive possessions with nary a play called other than Fox iso-ing against good defenders.
I see this going 6 or 7 either way IF Vic does not come back.

Devin should have gone straight into his shot there, gave Holiday a chance to foul him
Basketball 101.
He also didn't follow his shot.
Looked like he might have had a chance at the rebound? Not recording over here, long story.

It's an overreaction, but right now I feel like I wasted hundreds of hours watching every single minute of this season if the first real adversity in the playoffs is going to end up in a monumental choke.
Having this happen in prob the worst game Deni is gonna have sucks too

What a frustrating game. Lose Vic, Fox adding to his playoff choker label, Castle played like dogshit, gave away HCA. Reggie and Tirico being big Blazers homers.
