Game Thread Playoffs Round 1, Game 1: Spurs vs Blazers (0-0) (Sun 04/19/2026) [8:00 CDT]

Great pic tbh. The vibes were high last night.

Portland defended well. They pressed our guards and made them work every possession. That and some playoff jitters definitely affected Castle and everyone else for that matter. Harper saw a lot of double teams, which threw him off some. Great experience for all of them last night. They will figure it out.

Pop looks good there tbh. Good to see him chopping it up at the game yesterday and having a good time.

Does he have a napkin tucked in under his chin? He looks good but man getting old suuuucks

Yeah, I think it's a bit much to expect Castle to be the main POA defender on someone like Deni while also putting up an efficient 20 and 8 on offense :st-lol: I think he was perfectly fine last night for his first playoff game. The 4/13 wasn't super pretty, but it felt like there were at least a couple misses that really should've been called fouls and sent him to the FT line. He also did a decent enough job at taking care of the ball.

You catch Wemby landing on Deni early in the game?
Should have been a foul on Wemby imo.

Glad Deni was not injured. Play had the potential.

The reigning and likely repeat MVP just shot 5-18 and he doesn't have the same defensive duties. Castle will be fine.

Only Avdija (and Scoot in spurts) seemed to show up offensively for the Trailblazers. They have zero ability to generate scoring outside of Avdija, and it really proved to their detriment last night. Tbh the only reason this game was even remotely close heading down the stretch was the atrocious officiating. Just absolutely shameful stuff in the 2nd and 4th Q from that crew.

He also rebounded extremely well. He's a bit of a foul merchant himself and it cost him, IMO.

You sure? I accidently erased my record.
Not the play where Vic went up for block and Blazer fell into Vic after shooting. That was not Deni.
I know what you are talking about. IIRC it was either the 1st or 2nd offense play by Portland.

Vic narrowly avoided 2 quick fouls in the 1st 5 min tbh. He made decent contact with the opposing player

We really need to punish that Clingan defending Castle matchup in Game 2. I thought it caught them a bit off guard and Steph was a little too passive in attacking. That has to either be a pull up shot right away or go at him quick.
