Game Thread Playoffs Round 1, Game 1: Spurs vs Blazers (0-0) (Sun 04/19/2026) [8:00 CDT]

It was our 1st playoff game in 7 years, the first for most of the team. We controlled the majority of the game. We did have some careless turnovers, but all in all, we played well.

This is a 20+ point win if the officiating didn't do everything to keep it close.

GO SPURS GO

The game went as expected.
Blazers are a high floor, low ceiling team, it's good for us that they don't fold, we need to play the full 48 to be ready for the Nuggets, can't have any more leads thrown away.
Wemby delivering was never in doubt, good to see Fox and Devin also doing well.
Castle's offense was ugly, he can't get frustrated with the refs.
Keldon was great on the boards, but his offense was disgustingly bad.
Our bench made the difference all season long, we need them in the playoffs.
Kornet was the only one up to the task, Harper got comfortable in the second half and we pulled away when he pushed the transition a couple of times.

Avdija having the whistle he has is kind of unexplainable. They just randomly decided to give him SGA treatment.
Deni’s whistle good preparation for who we are likely to face the rest of the playoffs

The physicality from Portland and these refs being meh are a good thing for us as long as we secured the W. Keep building on it.

lol McGrady with the impressive post game analysis “just beat the shit out of Wemby”

Wemby has the passion for the game.. consciously trying to be the best all-time. Damn Spurs fans are in to get entertained for a very loooong time

Would have been sweet to have Manu, TP, Bruce, Sean, Boris, Red Rocket, and Patty all sitting together for the home games.

I barely understood anything Wemby said in the postgame interview. He’s too tall, the mic doesn’t reach him

Still, the officiating tonight was worrisome. Only way this goes beyond 5 is if the refs remain this terrible.
3rd quarter I thought they stayed out of it. And then they were mettlesome as fuck again in the fourth. Very curious to see what happens on Tuesday?

I'm also surprised at Deni's whistle because it came out of nowhere, like overnight he was a foul merchant, and he doesn't go to the rim with any sort of skill. No eurosteps no change of pace no nifty finishes he just runs at the rim a 100mph and throws a shot up.

He had a play where he just flat out ran over Keldon and they called a foul on Keldon. Luckily Dame is back next year so Deni won't be able to ref ball 100% of the time.

Being bitter assholes is a good way for these career postseason losers on this studio show to lose their good will.
