Wareeven Ron Holland has been unplayable in the playoffs.
Sarr and Castle looking like the only 2 hits in the entire draft.
That is one of the worst classes in history. Are we sure it’s better than 2000?
Edey is good but doesn’t look like his body will hold up. Clingan is decent. Buzelis puts up nice numbers but seems like an empty calories/low efficiency guy. McCain is a good bench piece.
Not much else there.
Spurs might have lucked into Wemby and Harper. But they did some damn good work with Castle. Even some fans on here wanted Sheppard or were mad we traded Dillingham instead of Castle lol.Between Risacher DNPs & Sheppard's brickfest, GMs gonna lose jobs down the roads for passing on Castle.
never went for layups, strictly corner threes and floaters/long jumpershow can you have a second half like that ????
19 points
4/37 shooting
27 shots missed out of the last 28
that's crazy. and OK, Orlando is offensively really bad but still, they showed heart this serie, what happened to them in a half that could close out the serie for them ??
I'm thinking the opposite, actually.. can't remember a second round this deep, maybe ever with a very deep line of late first rounders being useful.. The boom or bust prospects though, they were absolutely hilariouseven Ron Holland has been unplayable in the playoffs.

LeBron gets plenty of passes: parade of finals runs in a crappy East for almost a decade, and 2 asterisks championships immediately come to mind.Yeah but he's not 31 years old.
I thought that was coming more from his camp, no? Dont think the spurs pursued it too much. Or maybe im confusing with Giannis. We sure dodged a bullet with KD. Remember there were lot of rumors that KD might be traded to the Spurs but fortunately BW did not even make any offer![]()
Pretty much agree outside Ime; I think he's run his course in Houston. They need a legitimate offensive mind to fix the offense while banking on the defensive talents of the roster to maintain that side of the ball.
- Trade Durant. The burner situation should be the end of him here.
- Trade Sengun, Eason. Keep Jabari, Amen, MAYBE Reed.
- Not in on firing Ime just yet. Rafael Stone is a fucking idiot who did nothing about a PG after Fred Van Shit got hurt, then went and shit the bed on getting DFS rather than NAW. Pushing the chips in on Durant who ruined yet another team should cost him his job.
I think i did predict that at the time.

$250 million for a glorified OKC André Roberson

Also a dirty pos.$250 million for a glorified OKC André Roberson![]()
Teams are really going to have to be thoughtful about these types of extensions. This may not be quite Duren level yuck, but definitely not far behind given the shooting issues.
For a couple of years now I've been saying that no serious playoff team has one-way perimeter players. Can maybe work in the first round, but not after that, especially not in the West. The league is changing quickly. I don't think you can win without 2-way players especially at center. The Sengun/Sabonis archetype is not going to take a team very far. In fact, Sacramento would be a great landing spot for Sengun. The KD situation was to be expected based on his career arc and it will be interesting to see what happens there. Was he really injured? Send him to DC for some of the young guns they have.I do see Durant ending up a bit like Melo, able to contribute and ultimately no one wants him and his farewell tour is from the sidelines without a team. Anyway, nice to see Houston's true colors shine at home in a closeout game.
Wild to see that Haliburton high bounce shot repeat itself with the Raptors last night. These relics of offensive mastery and defensive negatives (Harden, etc.) are not adding much to teams in these playoffs. The Spurs have built a very contemporary team of offensive/defensive pieces around Wemby and in pretty short order.
This is great article about the "dead archetypes"; some were niche players that are now victims of today's NBA.For a couple of years now I've been saying that no serious playoff team has one-way perimeter players. Can maybe work in the first round, but not after that, especially not in the West.
There are no more 3-no-D shooters or defensive specialists that are useless in half court offense.
One way bigs can still work as long as that one way is rim protection and they have good spacing around them.
Why would he want Lebron to win? It makes him look worse. KD is competing against Lebron in all time rankings. I'm sure he would have rather played and beaten Lebron. At least that way he could have said he was 3-1 against Lebron head to head in the playoffs to have a slight argument when comparing himself to Lebron. Now it's 2-2 technically (KD didn't really play, though, but still, 2-2).Was Durbeta secretly rooting for the Lakers?
Question for you all - If you're the Rockets, would you give up Sengun or Thompson now for Giannis (that's if Milwaukee is even interested now, which they might not be after this). I also wonder if they talked early in the season for real on a trade, and if the Rockets were reluctant to give up a package around Sengun.Yikes, the future looks bleak for Houston. Ime has to be gone, Sheppard looks like a bust, Amen looks like a role player, and Sengun is like a third option on offense and one of the worst defenders in the paint.
I've never once thought he's anywhere near GOAT (maybe 4th or 5th at best on my list). I put TD ahead of him personally (a little bit of bias, but also I believe TD is legit better) as TD never went to super teams and jumped from team to team to win, and TD also didn't demand trades for his teammates all the time to get upgrades and still fail like Lebron constantly did.Oh, I don't think he's remotely close to the goat. That's all manufactured bullshit like Kobe. He's definitely the greatest old AF basketball player of all time. But he really fucked up the Rockets season and that makes me happy.
I wanted Ime too (before the Rockets hired him), but turns out he's a dud. Seems he doesn't have the skills to keep his locker room intact.I just remember really wanting Ime to be the Spurs coach, shocked how badly that turned out.
That's wild. I'd maybe trade him, not give him that kind of money. Also a dirty pos.
Thanks. Going to bookmark this to read later. This is great article about the "dead archetypes"; some were niche players that are now victims of today's NBA.

NBA Players Archetypes That Disappeared In Modern Day - Fadeaway World
In modern-day, old players’ archetypes are fading away with the fast development of the NBA.fadeawayworld.net
I wouldn't include Hawks in there. What's striking in these playoffs is how many teams are exiting them in a disastrous way. Hawks, Rockets and Nuggets seasons have ended quite shamefully. Magic could join them soon after what they did in Game 6.
Add to that mix teams like Warriors, Clippers, Bucks and Heat: there are a lot of teams that can't really stand pat this summer.
