NBA Official 2026 NBA Playoffs Thread

What's striking in these playoffs is how many teams are exiting them in a disastrous way. Hawks, Rockets and Nuggets seasons have ended quite shamefully. Magic could join them soon after what they did in Game 6.

Add to that mix teams like Warriors, Clippers, Bucks and Heat: there are a lot of teams that can't really stand pat this summer.
I'm expecting a lot of desperation moves for guys like Kawhi, KD, Lavine, AD (again) on top of the inevitable Giannis trade. If Spurs and Thunder play an epic WCF that serves as the de facto Finals, you're gonna see some wild reaches by fringe contenders in fear that the league might be locked up soon by an OKC-San Antonio duopoly.

I wouldn't include Hawks in there.
G6 was an embarrassment, but they exceeded every expectation, especially after the Trae trade.
Won a couple of playoff games and have the 7th best odds in the lottery.
CJ is their only relevant rotation player older than 27.
Definitely not the Hawks
Their GM is looking long term

Actually pulling for Philly tonight. Don't think either of these teams can beat the Knicks in a 7-game series, but I think a healthy* Philly team matches up better with them. Boston's had no answer for Embiid since he came back. Will be interesting to see what adjustments Mazzulla makes for this game, if any.

I think the celtics win tonight, they shot below 30% from 3 the last two games, i don't think they will shoot this bad for a third straight game. But who knows

Go Sixers! I thought they didn't stand a chance, but here they are. I like Celtics just fine, but it would be quite a comeback for Philly. Like both teams far more than the Knicks. Think Celtics have the advantage if Tatum can play.

Wild to see that Haliburton high bounce shot repeat itself with the Raptors last night. These relics of offensive mastery and defensive negatives (Harden, etc.) are not adding much to teams in these playoffs. The Spurs have built a very contemporary team of offensive/defensive pieces around Wemby and in pretty short order.
Apologies if someone else already posted, I didn’t read the whole thread…

But that shot for TOR gave me Kawhi 2019 vibes for the Raptors. Interested to see if that bounce propels them in Game 7, where I believe they are 0-11 all time in the playoffs (Cleveland, that is)

Spurs might have lucked into Wemby and Harper. But they did some damn good work with Castle. Even some fans on here wanted Sheppard or were mad we traded Dillingham instead of Castle lol.
Entirely possible that those other players would have done better if they'd had Manu Ginobili, Tim Duncan, and Greg Popovich to help them develop.

Lol... he absolutely isn't getting anything remotely close to 250M. Probably less than half, if i were to guess, he has clearly shown he can be a 4th option at best.
I really fucking hate the rockets, so I'm praying they pay him.

Reed Sheppard has narrow ass shoulders and looks like a podcaster. No way in hell he’d be useful anywhere
I guess, except when he has a good game, everybody freaks out about it, and if he has a bad game, everybody freaks out about it.

Boston: You had a nice and respectable season being Phoenix Suns East. Smart not to risk it.
Still a long ways to go. He already rushed back which was amazing, but he's already hurting and there is still a month+ of basketball left.
