NBA Official 2026 NBA Playoffs Thread

It's the only truly black and white rule left in the NBA.
Suspending Gobert would ensure this series goes at least 6. Then MIN would basically be in a must-win situation back home for that one because if they allow this thing to go back to DEN for a Game 7, Nuggets are advancing tbh.

If any dumb suspensions are handed out, then Joker has to be one of them. He instigated the whole thing.

Let them play tbh
Pretty much. Unless there are some other angles that I haven’t seen, suspending Gobert seems absolutely absurd. Jokic is pretty clearly the guy most at fault.

If the rule was so black and white Lamelo would have been suspended due to the pistons/hornets brawl

DEN has a lot to lose if the "leave the bench" rule (which apparently isn't a rule anymore) were enforced.

also "unwritten rules of the game are stupid" and usually quite arbitrary. McDaniels waging psychological warfare, and winning.

I still think McDaniels is a dick but Jokic shouldn’t have taken the bait.

Also, Mamu proving meaningful playoff minutes makes me happy

Let’s say Minnesota, without Edwards and DiVincenzo, has just a 30% chance of winning Game 5, 40% chance of winning Game 6, and 30% chance of winning Game 7. That would mean their probability of winning the series is still 70.6%.

Does that sound counterintuitive? Well, remember that Denver still has to win three more times in order to advance. Minnesota only has to win once.

As punishment for this abomination, both Cleveland and Toronto should have to forfeit their playoff appearances and grant automatic advancement for both New York and Atlanta.
