NBA Official 2026 NBA Playoffs Thread

KD to Spurs was a huge potential dodged bullet. I don't think the FO was really interested but the fools gold of him slotting in PF was probably tempting. Glad it was resisted no matter how immediately.

Can you blame them? Since they started tanking…

2021: Jalen Green (2nd overall)
2022: Jabari Smith (3rd) and Tari Eason (17th)
2023: Amen Thompson (4th) and Cam Whitmore (20th)
2024: Reed Sheppard (3rd)
2025: Traded their former 2nd overall pick + 2025 10th overall pick for KD

The culmination of all of that is a young core that isn’t even capable of beating a 41 year-old LeBron with Ayton/Kennard/Smart as his main support :st-lol:

Meanwhile they have to look over at SA landing Wemby/Castle/Harper in consecutive drafts, and even after Dallas embarrasses themselves by trading Luka they end up lucking into Flagg.

I’m probably in the minority here, but man, a Fox/Castle/Champagnie/KD/Wemby lineup would be pretty insane :st-lol: The KD we saw in game 2 wouldn’t really be a thing because he wouldn’t be asked to be a PG if he were in SA.

I think Bryant is going to be a great player and Vassell has seemingly turned things around, so I’m definitely happy with how things turned out…but I think this team with KD would’ve still turned out to be incredible (albeit would’ve sacrificed some of the brightness of our future outlook).
 
Lol KD out with a sprained ankle… I’d almost feel bad… but I don’t.

If Luka and Reeves come back could be an interesting semis

I agree with you. KD has obviously some mental issues that would have to be managed (Pop would be great in that regard) but he is a great shooter especially from outside, something that we definitely need plus he can rebound due to his size. I'm sure that he'll ask to be traded again this summer, the train has left the station for the Spurs but he could be dangerous if going to another contender.
 
This series is a massive indictment of both Ime Udoka and the Rockets' young core. All years of tanking for this?

The Minny GM express said they got Gobert to build a defense capable of slowing down Joker. Slowing down is key, that's the best anyone can do. Dude can have a game of the ages anynight on anyone, no one should be surprised when it happens.

Certain posters will cuss you out on this forum for this take you just gave but would've silently been very happy had KD or Giannis signed here. It's a sin to post anything that might include Harper not being here lol

Rockets will be blowing Bucks' phones for Giannis at the end of the series, but the value of their young players is in the gutter right now.
 
What a rough series for Amen Thompson. He just looks completely worthless if he’s not getting out in transition.
