Trade Official 2025-2026 Trade Deadline Thread

Can't imagine Harden, an LA native, is happy about making a move to Cleveland at this stage of his career. Weird timing considering the Clippers have just turned things around

Harden wants an extension, it sounds like, and LAC doesn't want to give it. He wants money rather than LA.

Harden saved the clippers season and is an LA native. Must be a real shit show over there. With Kawhi and Uncle Dennis how could it not be.

That, or the league is about to come down hard on Kawhi and suspend him for long stretch, so Clippers are ready to flush out this season. Leonard getting snubbed for ASG could've have been a directive handed down from Silver before he drops the news after ASB.

This season of Game of Trades started off slow, but is just now getting good... let's goooooo

don't get why cleveland would trade garland when they have proved to be title worthy when healthy

Apparently TOR and NOP reached out to the Clippers about Harden, and Harden said he wasn't interested in going to either team. MIN supposedly reaching out to LAC gauge interest.

Speculation is Clippers asked Sham to "break" this to see if someone would make an offer greater than Garland.

Naturally, it's about the cash.

And yet the motherfucker had to end us with that three in Game 5 of the 2012 WCF
I wanted to bring that up, but I didn't want to type out the whole sequence with the goaltending on Manu. Glad you bought it up, though, as it still pisses me off that he was pretty much a choker from that point on. After that series, he showed he doesn't really care about winning as he was pathetic in the finals. Showed no heart whatsoever. That's where it all started for him (not being a winner, not caring about winning). Russell Westbrook, even though he has a shit ton of flaws played his ass off in the finals. I think those finals are why OKC let Harden go and chose to stick with Westbrook. Westbrook showed up, Harden didn't. If he had a better showing in those finals, I think the OKC owner would have paid the money to keep him.

True but Manu also ended him back in 2017 lol.
I was about to say, the difference is, Spurs really could have won it all in 2012, but then I remembered, they could have won it all in 2017 too :(.

Guess it is named "Spurs trade ideas" for a reason?
And guess this area is named spurstalk for a reason...and theres a nba discussion section for reason...anyways the other thread been used for plenty more than just spurs rumors

I just really thought it was cool how Manu got the last say in that series. Like yeah harden was a legit MVP level player but he never had the winning genes like Manu did. Homer take but give me Manu’s career over Harden’s.

They won't fall out of the play-in at this point at least tbh.
Garland has been out 40% of the season including the last 2 1/2 weeks and Memphis and Dallas are only 3.5 - 4 games back. When Kawhi gets hurt again they'll have a 2-11 stretch that puts OKC right in the mix to get a high pick again.

Can't see Memphis or Dallas preferring getting raped in the play-in to maximizing their chances at a high pick this year. Also fully expect both to trade away a lot of their better older pieces. Also wouldn't surprise me if the Thunder traded the Clippers their pick back for Zubac tbh.

Yeah, fair enough. Rockets could have won a Championship the following year, though, but Harden choked after Chris Paul missed the last two games of the series (Rockets were up 3-1). Even without Chris Paul, is was right there for the taking, but he came up short.

Cavs are trying to drop out of the second apron. Pretty wild that the Clippers might grab Garland for essentially nothing.

If they salary dump Isiah Joe and Dieng to the Clippers plus the pick for Zubac and renounce Hartenstein next summer they're still about $4 million over the second apron. If they throw Topic in to LAC too they might be able to just squeeze under the second apron with rookie minimum signings to fill out the roster. Then year after next they're going to have to decide which one player of Caruso, Dort, and Cason Wallace they can keep. Might be none of them if they trade for Zubac.
