Trade Official 2025-2026 Trade Deadline Thread

George/Bailey/Lauri/JJJ/Kessler could be an interesting jumbo lineup for them to run out at times...

JJJ kind of fucks us at times, I'm preparing for Will Hardy to continue to punish us. The beatings shall continue until we wear the magic underpants.
I guess Lauri is an SF now

didnt understand it at first glance for Utah, but more i think about it more i like it. still think its too late for this year, but JJJ is still just 26

will JJJ/Lauri as the 4/5 be good enough on the boards? i dno. but it should be fun.

Lauri at SF should be ok, but him drawing out bigger players is part of what made him so effective. and i dno how that works defensively.

The Grizzlies have also created a massive $28.8 million trade exception in this deal -- the largest ever in the NBA, per @BobbyMarks42.
Grizzlies are about to take on a bad contract for some assets.

Not for nothing... the Grizzlies last sale included a clause that allows the league to repurchase them for what the current owner paid (something like $377MM). Current estimate from Forbes has the Grizzlies as the least valuable team in the league at $3.5B. If the Russian Drone stuff becomes more talked about in the news (I'm surprised it's not, honestly) then I wonder if the league triggers that and flips the team to someone who wants to move them to Nashville and pocket a few billion for the owners.

We are talking about real life here, not NBA2K leaving you stuck in a menu if you don't play someone with SF next to their name in the SF slot.
I think Lauri has played SF before when he was on the Cavs back in the day. He can play wing since he's an offball shooter. Seems like the Jazz are going supersize now.

Jackson and Markannen will combine to nearly $100 million / year between them. That's wild.

I know there's a little weirdness involved, but should we be inquiring about Filipkowski?

Ah, I misunderstood your previous comment - my bad.

I don't think that lineup can play heavy minutes together, but it does give them some unique size for 48 minutes. Suddenly Utah became very interesting.

I liked Hendricks, but that injury really derailed him. Interested to see if MEM can rehab him.

Vince Williams is also a solid pickup for the Jazz, he's got team option for the next season, just $2.5M.

lots of money for 12 rebounds.
Kessler averaged 12 last season, will be interesting to see what happens with his extension.

An our precious Prince, Jock. If he somehow shook loose I'd love to bring him back as a third rotation C, who could actually put in some minutes. Might even be more playable next to Wemby or Luke?

if the Grizzlies are getting all these first round picks, wouldn't they give up Aldama for a gang of second rounders? They already got the most picks in the NBA and are about to get another one for taking on Poeltl and probably 2-3 more for Ja.

Grizz collecting picks like they're infinity stones. They will demand more draft capital to absorb Poeltl's contract. Seconds alone might not be enough for Aldama, even with the Grizz tearing it down.

Irrelevant. George, 2026 1st, Bailey will be on rookie deals for most of this time
It's absolutely not irrelevant. That's a massive amount of the cap vacuumed up by two one-dimensional players, neither of which can lead a team into the playoffs.
