"That was today?!"

Must've been on a bender with RC tbh.

As long as we keep getting gifted no-brainer Top 5 picks in the lottery, we'll be okay tbh

No, I said that the whole draft was pretty bad. You're making it out like it was a good one, when it wasn't. Actually take a look at it.
and yet between Sochan and Wesley there were 9 players drafted who are better than all 3 guys who we drafted. Epic fail.

We are so caught up in our moral loss but the Rockets just suffered probably the worst loss of the season by a suppossed contending team: fully healthy (sans the guys that are out for the season) and rested at home vs a Celtics team without Brown and in the 2nd night of a B2B. Not only they lose, they get blown the fuck out.

If I'm the Rockets, I'm trading one or two of my extremely flawed "core guys" (Sengun and Amen) and going all in for Giannis. See if you can luck into a championship in the next couple of years with Giannis and KD and if not, no worries, just blow it up and tank to try and get real franchise players this time. None of this Sengun/Amen bullshit, tbh.
Agree with DAF here. Houston is the team that will/should find out about their fraudulence come next offseason and eventually make a swing for Giannis sending some combo of their flawed, second rate, young "core pieces" + picks.

Yawn - no trades for the spurs ... not surprising. Guess that breaks the 3 or 4 year streak of actually doing something at the deadline. I don't think standing pat actually counts. Small chance we get in on the buyout market ?

Yeah, it sucks, they missed out on Ochai Agbaji and Dalen Terry. Do you guys ever stop pissing yourselves?
:st-lol:

If it's any consolation, Rockettes fans are melting down over on Clutchfans about not making any deals either :st-lol:
imo they will fall out of the top 6

their offensive numbers were pretty solid but largely on the back of offensvie rebounds. with adams out for the year, that will take a big hit

By far the biggest loser was the Rockets.

I dont know if the plan is to pick up washed ass Mike Conley but to not land a single PG after like 20 were moved these last few days is objectively hilarious tbh.

Spurs doing no trade is fine by me but it opens 3 questions:

1) Will the lack of quality after their main 9 players rotation hurt Spurs this season ? Will there be a moment where the lack of an additional shooter, a defensive minded center, a true PF.. cost a playoffs game? If Sochan is bought out, Spurs end of the bench will even be weaker.

2) What will Spurs do with their 3 2026 second round picks? Will they be able to get something good for them or not? For the record, cash considerations aren't a good return.

3) What will Spurs do with all their space below the tax this summer? What kind of contracts will they give to Champagnie and Barnes? Will they use their whole MLE?

If he listened to SpursTalk we'd have Tidjane Saluan instead of Castle.
Not really, some wanted him at 8 (not me) but I don't remember anyone advocating for him at 4. Castle was the most popular choice, Dejounte (now OK computer) made a survey at the time, I don't remember who went 2nd/3rd but I think it was Sheppard, Risacher and Buzelis.

Reed "better than Castle" Sheppard is shooting 32/25/87 in 8 games since torching us.

BWrong's best skill is luck, which I'll frankly take over competency any day of the week tbh :st-lol:
There are many aspects of GM-ing.
Wright has proven to be a great salesman and we also got Fox for dirt cheap.
Getting Champagnie and Bassey for nothing was also nice.
Drafting outside top4 has been questionable, but that's also on the Spurs scouting, GM has too many responsibilities and can't be great at everything.

Said on here multiple times that I would be very surprised if the Spurs made any sort of remotely noticeable move mid-season.

The team is dramatically over-performing vs. expectations. We’ve been riddled with injuries and still haven’t really had much of a chance to see this squad at full strength. With the way this FO operates it shouldn’t come as any surprise that they stood pat.

Not necessarily saying I agree with the logic. I do think this team has some clear flaws, and I’d argue we aren’t nearly as good as our record indicates. Just saying I think it was always a pipe dream that we were going to do much mid-season.

At this point the best we can hope for is to be healthy from here on out and see some more consistency out of Wemby. If those two things happen the playoffs could be very interesting despite the flaws we have.

Getting Champagnie and Bassey for nothing was also nice, but less than most teams would do in 7 years.
Drafting outside top4 has been questionable HORRENDOUS but that's also on the Spurs scouting WHICH IS STILL HIS RESPONSIBILITY, GM has too many responsibilities and can't be great at everything.
Fixed it for you

  1. Probably unless Bryant continues to make massive strides.
  2. You already know the answer to this :st-lol:
  3. Doubt they'll sign an MLE agent. Probably give Champ a raise and Barnes a 2 year deal.
