NBA NBA All-Star weekend, February 13th-15th, Intuit Dome, LA

The World team issue is they have the best five possible on paper, but half of it doesn't care and the bench sucks balls.

This format can be improved if Silver listened to me, tbh. Just form 4 teams of 6 players each (1 sub per team) and just play semifinals, maybe a 3rd place game, and then the final. Simple.

You can even keep the West vs East format if you want. 6 west players vs 6 west players on one semifinal, and 6 east players vs 6 east players in the other. The final inivetably being West vs East.

The only tweak that mattered was Wemby giving a fuck tbh. :st-lol:

Of course, the assumption is that they actually play their normal game, otherwise what the fuck is even the point of anything.
Nah. They dont play their normal game in an allstar game. Unless they care to win.

Team World was a fucking skeleton of what it should be. They need to run this back next year with a healthy roster. We all know a team of Wemby/Jokic/Shai/Luka/Giannis would dominate.
Luka and Jokic play no defense, and since they're going up against allstar calibre players on the other end, I don't think they're made for serious all-star type games. They can be exploited on defense against elite offensive players, and these all star teams a full on those types of players.

This too. Some of those guys won't give any effort (fair enough as I don't care about the all-star game that much either).

TD didn't give a crap about them and I didn't either, so I guess I won't trash current players that don't care about it too.

Its crazy some people here care about wemby winning allstar mvp but dosent care for him winning league MVP(highest individual award).Lmao

I don't care about that either. If I am guessing, I think TD didn't really care about MVP. More rather winning the Championship than anything else, but maybe since he won two of them (should have won more), his focus might have shifted after getting a couple of them.

Nah, the format helped too. With the regular long ass game we wouldn't have had all those minutes of high intensity in crunch time. Wemby definitely set the tone, but the format helped too.

Who said that? I would much rather him win league MVP, between the two.

Also :st-lol: Kawhi for having his big "home court all star moment" - only to get crushed in the final. Bitch

People who root for load management because winning MVP and other individual awards doesnt matter according to them. But for some reason i saw some poster here rooting wemby to win all star MVP.lmao

Mate, if I was playing - If I was an MVP level player in the NBA, I would not give a shit about it. I would not give a shit at all. Different people have different perspectives on things. All I care about is winning games and trying to win the Championship.

Just because you care about it, doesn't mean everyone else should too (that includes players). I have no problem with players that care about it. That's up to them. Some care about winning MVP more than winning the Championship.
Then you can use David Robinson as an example, you think he gives a shit about the MVP he got in '95? I'd throw that shit in the bin (I wonder what David has done with it? If he even has it on display? I'm guessing he's got it in a cupboard or something), as I'd still be pissed about not winning it all/losing to the Rockets anytime I think about that season.

Nah being the best player in the world means something to people. You only think that way bc you’ve literally never been the best in the world at something. You can want to win a championship all you want but MVPs matter, especially back then when you had a muderers row to get through to win any of those awards.

He probably hated the way that season ended for sure but him losing had more to do with bad coaching and a self sabotaging teammate.
