NBA NBA All-Star weekend, February 13th-15th, Intuit Dome, LA

I'm feeling especially grateful and awe-filled today to realize we have 2 All-Stars, 2 Rising Stars and 1 Slam Dunk Competition participant this weekend. It was barely over a year ago we were debating whether Tre Jones should be playing more, Zollins, Branham, Wesley, Sochan were among our playing time candidates. Just ridiculous to see us here today. I don't think we should take ALL the credit, but, this didn't happen until the Baseline Bums came into being.
Three Rising Stars!

Late addition Carter Bryant's Team Vince put away Dylan and Steph's Team Melo 25-24 for the championship.🏀🏆⛹🏾‍♀️

Only problem with that is teams might go foul-happy and could risk injury

Nah....other than a few nutcase like Rodman....these modern millionaires basketball player would understand this is a celebratory event and I trust 99% have sportsmanship not to foul hard anyone intentionally.

If injuries still happen, it would be due to bad luck and not by players playing extremely aggressive like their livelihood depends on it

what? LA is CB's hometown? :st-lol:

MATFO better look out during his free agency

I really like the rising star game format
I made a thread about this while on SpursTalk and got pushback. I don't know why the hell for.

It's clear that these short games, tournament format with a fixed score to hit is the best way to keep the play competitive and the guys engaged.

I don't know why they use this format for the rising stars but don't use it for the whole thing. It's way better.

They tried it for the ASG a few years ago and it helped slightly. Problem is a lot of the players still didn't get up for it.

They are not going to get up for it unfortunately. It sucks for the fans, but these players make so much fucking money these days they just don’t give a shit anymore. I’m not really in favor of canceling the game altogether, but it’s getting very close to that point of just doing it. You literally have all-time great players like Kevin Durant saying well “it’s not our fault. The game sucks”. It’s bad.

As an NBA fan for 20+ years I’d be happy if they just scrapped the AS weekend. I haven’t had interest for over 10 years. Just announce your all stars and have a 5 day break or something and that’s that. Or just use the extra week to spread the games over and have less back to backs.

Yup he's from Riverside. So like an hour East of LA. I think he's going to be a Spur lifer though tbh. Or at least the majority of his career. Kid is a quintessential Spur in terms of his personality and how he carries himself.

I hate to see it go completely but I agree for the most part. It seems like it’s pretty much beyond saving. Once you are coming up with all these gimmicks to try to get people interested it’s just a dead entity..
