Player Mason Plumlee is signing a 10-day contract with the San Antonio Spurs [Shams]

I completely forgot Tyler Zeller played for the Spurs.

Bonner, Splitter, Baynes, Landale, Gasol, Boban, Lauvergne, Eubanks, Bertans, Zach Collins, Poeltl, Tyler Zeller, Kornet, Olynyk, Plumlee... I think they have a type... just saying :st-lol:
Dennis Schroeder, one guy, has played on as many nba teams as ALL of the Plumlee brothers combined.

I get it…but plumlee is not any better than even sochan? Make that make sense?
Sure he is. Drop us a line when Sochan hits 850+ games. He’s an old school big who never developed a 3 pointer, and he’s still in the league. That means he can DHO, set picks, and rebound. Sochan does one of those things.

David Lee as well

Glad to have somewhat official confirmation that the team expects to hold onto Plumlee into the playoffs.

We would've made great use of him last night, especially after Kornet went down. Can't have too many strong, big and fearless players on your team. I'm quite amped to see how he fits in on the court with our young guns - is he going to be huff-and-puffing the transition offense? :st-lol:

Honestly? To get him into game shape, it’ll probably take another 10 day, but that will run past March 1st,so I’m not sure if they can do that and have him on the playoff roster. Anyone know if being on a 10 day bridging the buyout signing date counts for playoff eligibility?
I think this covers it: https://www.hoopsrumors.com/2026/02/rest-of-season-nba-dates-deadlines-to-watch-5.html

March 1 - Last day a player can be waived by one team and remain eligible to appear in the postseason for another team.

  • This rule doesn’t apply to players on 10-day contracts, since they don’t pass through waivers when their deals expire. A player whose 10-day contract expires on March 3, for instance, could still sign a rest-of-season contract in March or April and be playoff-eligible.

Or just journeyman bigs? The vast bulk of those guys were good to great value role players or acquired for expiring contracts, the ones that weren't were minimum salary guys signed as the 15th man and/or a 10-day + Zollins. They've also averaged like 9yr NBA careers and well over 10 if you include European seasons.

AI is the death of us all tbh... and not because its skynet, but because it makes us stupid
No doubt. I'm sure you're starting to see it creep into your professional world, I can't imagine how frustrating it would be to come across some of the things I've read about in your profession.

I've started to see it creep inappropriately into some workproduct from employees... but with that said I've find some ways to deploy it properly... but the "Grok is this true" kind of approach to everything is definitely turning our brains into mush

the worst variant is youtube shorts. somebody wants to promote a clip. so to give it "credibility" the first 3 seconds of every short is joe rogan saying "have you seen that video? pull that up jaime" and then just shows whatever clip the user wants to promote, sometimes with joe's idle face "watching" the video

So no space for Middleton unless we waive either Olynyk or Biyombo?

So, Spurs signed him for the rest of the season without him playing a single minute and while they could have given him a second 10 days contract. That's surprising.

I guess they really wanted to have a Kevin Willis kind of player at the end of their bench. I still think they also need a Steve Kerr kind of player to round the roster, we will see if they do something about that.
