Player Mason Plumlee is signing a 10-day contract with the San Antonio Spurs [Shams]

He's probably mostly washed up given that he's what 36 and out of the league, but he's either a step up from our other two backup backup centers or we're just rapidly collecting more of the same. Fingers crossed.
He wasn’t out of the league, he was sitting on Charlotte’s bench.

I completely forgot Tyler Zeller played for the Spurs.

Bonner, Splitter, Baynes, Landale, Gasol, Boban, Lauvergne, Eubanks, Bertans, Zach Collins, Poeltl, Tyler Zeller, Kornet, Olynyk, Plumlee... I think they have a type... just saying :st-lol:
Dennis Schroeder, one guy, has played on as many nba teams as ALL of the Plumlee brothers combined.

I get it…but plumlee is not any better than even sochan? Make that make sense?
Sure he is. Drop us a line when Sochan hits 850+ games. He’s an old school big who never developed a 3 pointer, and he’s still in the league. That means he can DHO, set picks, and rebound. Sochan does one of those things.

David Lee as well

Glad to have somewhat official confirmation that the team expects to hold onto Plumlee into the playoffs.

We would've made great use of him last night, especially after Kornet went down. Can't have too many strong, big and fearless players on your team. I'm quite amped to see how he fits in on the court with our young guns - is he going to be huff-and-puffing the transition offense? :st-lol:

Honestly? To get him into game shape, it’ll probably take another 10 day, but that will run past March 1st,so I’m not sure if they can do that and have him on the playoff roster. Anyone know if being on a 10 day bridging the buyout signing date counts for playoff eligibility?
I think this covers it: https://www.hoopsrumors.com/2026/02/rest-of-season-nba-dates-deadlines-to-watch-5.html

March 1 - Last day a player can be waived by one team and remain eligible to appear in the postseason for another team.

  • This rule doesn’t apply to players on 10-day contracts, since they don’t pass through waivers when their deals expire. A player whose 10-day contract expires on March 3, for instance, could still sign a rest-of-season contract in March or April and be playoff-eligible.
