Yes, that was kind of underhanded, but nothing violated the CBA like him apparently being the driving force and initiator of the Aspiration bullshit paying Kawhi off the books thing.

except the spurs would have had a good team around him. during his last health year we made the conference finals. in the 17/18 season when nephew held us hostage and sat out, LMA still dragged us to the playoffs and we lost in round 1 to the buzzsaw warriors. then in 18/19 after trading him, and with an ascending dejounte murray missing the whole season, we still made the playoffs and took the nuggets to 7.

yeah, LMA's decline was upcoming, but Kawhi would have played with ascending DeJounte Murray and Derrick White.

but yeah if kawhi's knee was going to continue falling apart, it ended up working out for the best with the Wemby outcome

He’s got two +s and one -. Those two FMVPs are a hella strong argument, but for a modern NBA only career, the bar to clears is usually 20K pts, and after 14 years, he hasn’t cleared 15K, and his body is just busted.

His bigger problem might be finding a HOFer to induct him. You have to be brought into the hall by someone in the hall. I can rule out a bunch of people right now: Tim, Tony,Manu, Dave, and Ice, after the way he shit on the Spurs, and MJ because he sued Jordan Brand over the Klaw logo. MJ is not a forgiver. Shit head had better hope Pop lives long enough.

Pop wanted to get rid of Danny for whatever reason. They almost traded him for Avery Bradley at the deadline the season before

I know on the accolades he is getting in. But between him missing 9,000 games in his career and all the BS on the side he does NOT deserve it at all IMO..

And, you’re too short sighted, only looking at immediate return. We got DeRozan, who we turned into a FRP as an unrestricted FA. That pick went into the Fox Trade.

We got Poodle, who we turned into the #8 pick in a garbage draft, but flipped for an unrestricted FRP in 20131. That pick went into, and was the key pick in the Fox trade.

Add two Charlotte second rounders, 3 end of roster players, and our 2027 pick, and you’ve converted Kawhi into Fox.

They absolutely wanted Danny gone. The intention was to include Patty’s deal, but when Green opted in, he sealed his fate. That’s how badly they wanted him gone. Danny is a finishing piece on a championship club, and we were no longer going to be that. Think back on that video of Danny walking off the court, and Pop telling him to STFU. That was the state of Danny Green in SA. He had worn out his welcome.
