Hawks make the most sense. They can give the Bucks a refund on some picks and have matching salary while playing in a very weak eastern conference.

Jeff Teauge told a funny story about the Hawks and Giannis on his podcast. I guess when Giannis declared for the draft he went to Atlanta and worked out for the team. The Hawks were blown away by what they saw and promised to draft Giannis. They even put up Giannis in Atlanta for a few months to hide him from the rest of the league. Then the Hawks fired either a coach or someone in the front office at the end of the season. Coach/front office person got hired by the Bucks and tipped them about Giannis and convinced them to draft him.
Wow. First time I've heard this story. That's crazy.

I will now include Vassell in any potential pursuit of Greek Freak.
Which is not going to happen.

Ya I highly doubt Spurs would pull the trigger on Giannis. Too expensive, too old, and the 2nd apron prevents any flexibility.

To be honest I’d put Vassell with Sochan plus picks to get the right player, maybe TM3, Markkanen or JJJ. But I doubt they go for Giannis.

Trying not to get my hopes up, but I’m imagining a scenario where the Spurs can be a part of a Giannis to Knicks trade that gets us OG. The Knicks don’t have picks to trade, but we do. San Antonio could be an ideal third team and acquire the finishing piece for a championship lineup

I think i could do a lot better if Im MIL, but this probably helps establish the baseline.

Let's get this party started. Rich Paul would have this shit done already.

What do we figure the MIN package would look like, and how could it beat MIA?
Salary-wise they could trade:

Randle + McDaniels + Draft Capital
Randle + Reid + Dillingham + Draft Capital
Randle + DiVincenzo + Draft Capital
Randle + Conley + Dillingham + Ingles OR Jaylen Clark + Draft Capital

There's multiple avenues for Minnesota to get there that all work salary-wise and I actually think their offer could be more enticing than Miami's as Milwaukee could then flip Randle and Reid/McDaniels to another team for more picks. It's really all dependent on how much draft capital the teams are willing to give up and with that protections.

Miami's package would be centered around Andrew Wiggins + another player or two (likely Kel'el Ware) + draft capital as well.

Minnesota can't do it without Randle and McDaniels, tbh.
Then they'd have to trade Gobert for a floor spacing big and depth.

Miami's most valuable asset is Ware, he'd surely be included.
As would Herro and then either Rozier or Wiggins.

I know that’s why they need to get somebody else involved because I think that’s where he wants to go. This should be interesting.
Bringing in a third team doesn’t magically fix the fact that NY has no assets. They either need assets to send to MIL, or assets for the 3rd team, so they can send out what MIL wants.

Wiggins or McDaniels should be targets for us.

McDaniels would cost a lot.
But it would actually make sense in that trade because Hawks own Bucks future picks.

Barnes, Minnesota swap returned and Hawks picks (I know we can't trade both outright) for McDaniels would be fair value.
