Agree to the Trade for Greek Freak (top 4 player on the planet now)?

Miami could also offer Wiggins + Herro + Ware + Draft Capital and I'm sure that's what Milwaukee's asking for, but Riley would prob much rather give up more capital and keep Herro as they'd badly need the shooting around Giannis, especially since they'd be losing one of their best shooters in Wiggins.

Salary-wise they could trade:

Randle + McDaniels + Draft Capital
Randle + Reid + Dillingham + Draft Capital
Randle + DiVincenzo + Draft Capital
Randle + Conley + Dillingham + Ingles OR Jaylen Clark + Draft Capital

There's multiple avenues for Minnesota to get there that all work salary-wise and I actually think their offer could be more enticing than Miami's as Milwaukee could then flip Randle and Reid/McDaniels to another team for more picks. It's really all dependent on how much draft capital the teams are willing to give up and with that protections.

Miami's package would be centered around Andrew Wiggins + another player or two (likely Kel'el Ware) + draft capital as well.
The problem is MIN's draft capital isn't that appealing because they've already traded awa 2027 and 2031.

They can only trade 2029 (but only 1-5, they've already traded away 6-30)

They can offer a swap on 2026, but that pick is already swapped and is the least farvorable of MIN/UTAH/CLE

They can offer a swap on 2028, which can be unprotected.

They can offer a swap on 2030, but that pick is already potentially swapped to us (we have swap rights with MIN and DAL that year, so we'll get the best of that and MIN will get the least favorable of theirs and the better of SA/DAL)

They can offer a swap on 2032, which can be unprotected

MIN draft capital is not good. They'd need a third team to take McDaniels or someone else with value to send picks to MIL.

The biggest issue for the Bucks is that they need a few younger players with upside since their picks are gone after this draft.

'27: NOP will receive the more favorable of its 2027 1st round pick and MIL's 2027 1st round pick and ATL will receive the less favorable of the two protected for selections 1-4; if this pick falls within its protected range and is therefore not conveyable, then NOP' commitment to ATL will be lifted and NOP will instead receive both picks (via NOP)

'28: POR will receive the more favorable of its 2028 1st round pick, protected for selections 15-30 if POR has not conveyed a 1st round pick to CHI by 2027, and MIL's 2028 1st round pick

'29 POR/WAS.

'30 POR has the right to swap its 2030 1st round pick for MIL's 2030 1st round pick

The Knicks must be regretting selling the picks farm for Mikal fuckin' Bridges :st-lol:..Giannis would've already been a Knick last summer, maybe even before..
This scenario was obvious even back then, but it's the Knicks.
Then they doubled down with KAT.

Hopefully that's the dealbreaker and why he's ultimately traded to Miami then. Wiggins + Ware + maybe Herro + Draft Capital might be their best bet with the Knicks having almost no assets to offer.

I'm a little surprised the Hawks aren't more interested in Giannis but MIL would obviously want that Pelicans pick and there's no way they're giving that up so that's prob why they're bowing out tbh.

Can't believe a marquee organization with so many tentacles around the league and beyond didn't have the precise intel about Giannis' state of mind and his future plans..The Clippers knew about Kawhi's LA preference circa 2017 and then started their grubby two-year long tampering process to land him.

This is why I think the Bucks should absolutely be trying to make a deal with ATL for Tingus, Risacher NOP/MIL26 and NOP/MIL27 over everything else.

They might be able to get more picks elsewhere, but they absolutely will not get better quality picks anywhere. If they got that NOP/MIL26, they could hard tank the rest of this year and have two really great shots at a Top 4 this year. Imagine if they both hit, they'd have an instant reset.

They could also turn around and try to flip Tingus for someone who needs to get off some bad longer term contracts. They wouldn't be able to aggregate him to help the Sixers get off of PG13 or anything like that, but the could help POR get off Grant and perhaps get one of those swaps back? Or they could help TOR get off of Jakob's terrible deal in exchange for a pick.

Doubt Giannis would approve a move to Minnesota in the current political climate.

Miami do seem to have the best available package for a deadline deal:

(a) Top 3 market, city, weather in the league
(b) a semblance of young prospect (Ware)
(c) a borderline All-Star caliber player when on high-usage (Herro)
(d) serviceable role players & expiring contracts that could be flipped for draft capital

Here we go, here is a best case scenario, IMO, for MIL that they should try for. They take on Jrue's deal in a farewell tour homecoming where he can be a mentor for all the youngsters they are about to draft.

If gives them near-control over the next 3 years of picks (they'd still have an outgoing swap with NOP in 2027 ironically related to Jrue Holiday), two shots at a top talent in this year's draft, and a former #1 pick to roll the dice on and sell to the fan base.

Just stirring the pot here, but this works on salaries (obviously with us sending out draft capital to MIL):

MIL: Randle; Kelly; Sochan
MIN: Giannis
SAS: McDaniels

Here is the most disgusting, out of nowhere scenario I could think of involving teams that have no business being in this conversation. Add picks as necessary. :st-lol:

So would you offer the 26 pick to get Wiggins, or do you tell Milwaukee sorry we're only offering the 27?

How about a disgusting MIL scenario involving teams that are the conversation. MIL gets a first from both Miami and the Spurs. Guess I could have made it worse if I forced MIL to keep Thanassis.

^ since MIL has to waive two players after that trade I'd probably just waive Sochan twice

Are we just fully embracing having no PFs on our roster at all?

Still have Lunchlady. Couldn't make the money work with him tbh.
I view Wiggins as kind of redundant to Vassell. It might be worth it to get off of the extra two years of Devin if you replaced Barnes and Sochan with him... but that would seem too disruptive for this team at this time, without really getting any better, IMO. That's really the only way I'd be interested in Wiggins... and I think I still probably pass, personally.

You trust Unc to get his shot back more than putting Wiggins there? I know Wiggins is 25 lbs lighter but not like Barnes is guarding anyone anyways.

It seems Steph and Dylan are pretty good friends with Devin from what I can see. They seem to have good chemistry. And if that is the case, I don't think it's worth trading Devin for someone like Wiggins that might not move the needle much at all.

Wiggins is streaking. Didn’t he basically disappear for half a season prior to being traded.

I don't think the Spurs would play Wiggins at PF.

so in this scenario milwaukee says theyd rather have Olynyk and Sochan than Jaden McDaniels?
