There's really no way to know, but my guess is that he thinks we are the easiest route to more titles.
You forgot the part where immediately Milwaukee gets the no. 1 pick somehow, even though it's logically impossible for them to do so (Atlanta has swap rights on them).Funniest scenario I saw posited... Lakers, with the help of Silver, use LeBron's expiring max slot to land Giannis while LeBron goes to college under these new found eligibility rules![]()

Bron going for his masters? Thought his four years in Miami were his going away to college.Funniest scenario I saw posited... Lakers, with the help of Silver, use LeBron's expiring max slot to land Giannis while LeBron goes to college under these new found eligibility rules![]()
If that’s all it takes to get Giannis, then im definitely calling Bucks. Thats offer basically Devin, Kornett, Sochan/filler and the Hawks swap.Heat most sense to me. They can probably make the best offer; Herro, Ware, matching salary, and a mid-ish 1st would be a great get at this point. Not sure if Heat are willing to part with Ware, but I've seen others mention it. And Giannis loses in court of public opinion if he has a beef about the destination.
Translation.Giannis is a chronically annoying person. He doesn’t have a connection to reality with his career. Like saying he has no authority over his agent. Obviously not true but there he goes saying it.
In that Amazon documentary there was this bit where he said something to the effect of him needing to stay just as driven as he always has been because his family’s future is on the line. What weirdo shit is that to say when you have 9 figures in the bank and none of your future earnings are in doubt whatsoever.
He just says dramatic, false shit all the time. Like how he’s not getting the ball enough from his teammates this year, there’s another one.
I think it’s not enough for him to win. He’ll need to win and make it about his own story. And I think he’ll burn everything down to make it that way, because he’s kind of a child.
So many problems with the idea. Which is too bad because it would be a hell if a ride.
“After the MRI, they will tell me probably I popped something in my calf. Probably give me a protocol of 4-6 weeks that I’ll be out. This is from my experience being around the NBA... Come back probably end of February, beginning of March. Hopefully the team can at least make the play-in.”
One klutch guy is bad enough, do not want two max player klutch parasites on the team. then they’ll get wemby and take him wherever & mold him into the kind of selfish feminine passive aggressive SOB lebum isWho cares if Wemby is a Simp for this Drama Queen
Giannis is not only a Hall of Fame, NBA top-three talent, but he also has the ability to diagnose and predict his injury before seeing a doctor. He even tells everyone how long his rehabilitation will take..
Your not a Spurs Fan if you want this shit all over again after having been through the exact same bull shit with Kawhi
"wemby wants it"
Yeah, and So...?
Wemby's not the GM. If he is unsatisfied with the level of talent around him he's nuts and he has earned no right to pass the buck onto others for losses when he has thrown up some real stinkers lately. After seeing the moves LeBron pushed on the Cavs and the Lakers and Kawhi on the Clippers I have no desire to see Victor be GM here. I'd be pretty surprised if Victor would ever insist on the Spurs trading for Giannis tbh, as the Spurs seem like they were always Victor's first choice and he had to know he would not have GM power here based on the franchise's history and reputation.People complaining and I get it as Im not a fan of it either but have yall considered that maybe Wemby has requested this behind close doors?
That's the only rational explanation I can think of with the Spurs being this interested in making this trade.
Agreed Victor hasn't played consistently at an MVP level yet where he can really assert that type of control over management.Wemby's not the GM. I don't think he's lying at all on that one - but I get why you would think that. Giannis was born in a very poor Greece, and the environment where you spend your 0-18 years is the formative feeling that defines you.Giannis is a chronically annoying person. This is all part of why I can’t buy into the reasoning that Giannis would be trying to force his way here so he can ramp down and play second fiddle to Wemby. Giannis doesn’t strike me as a guy who’s had a recent spiritual enlightenmentI don't think he's lying at all on that one - but I get why you would think that. From the way he talks at least, it's obvious that Giannis doesn't consider himself a true millionaire or "made" or whatever. It could be 10 figures in his bank and he'd still be trying to "secure his family's future" because there's just not a material price point to that feeling. Same way LeBron doesn't pay for Spotify Premium (which is the more idiotic thing to do tbh).
You nailed it about him having a childish outlook to some things though, and it's one reason I wouldn't like him on the Spurs. Seems like a very "you're either with me, or against me" type of dude, and that's a very annoying personality to deal with in any working environment.

We talked about this elsewhere, but I also think everyone’s fear of Wemby asking out are so overblown at this point that it drives people into wanting to take some irrational steps.Wemby's not the GM. There is a fairly recent history of lots of money becoming worthless quite rapidly in Greece, so maybe that’s part of his thinking. Giannis is an Economic History scholar unbeknownst to us and he’s just concerned about the dangers of rapid onset hyperinflationI don’t think he’s lying or being disingenuous. He’s genuinely a weird man child. Maybe because he grew up different, but you give most poor people a few hundred mill and they aren’t gonna feel poor much longer.
