Hi Community,

Since not everyone checks the Announcements forum, I thought I'd post this here.

We've made a few updates to our Community Guidelines, which are posted here: https://baselinebums.com/threads/forum-behaviour-ground-rules.119/

The most recent post in that thread (by me) spells out exactly what changed.

For those who don't want to click, the biggest change is that if you request to be banned or to have your account deleted, we will oblige you and your request is irrevocable. "Do people actually do this?" Yes, they do... a surprising amount, honestly. So, before you go asking to be banned... think twice and maybe just log out and come back later.

I would consider this to be asking to be banned/having your account deleted. Departures are one-way here. No "I'm out" and then "I'm back" and then later "I forgot I said I was out"

Very strange one asking to be banned or deleted. From your POV I'd see how annoying this would be. When you're out you're out would be my thought. This being said I was encouraged by your recent post that 'political banter' won't be permitted. As outspoken as I am about these things elsewhere, I enjoy 'basketball' talk only. I also think it's cool that Spurs players who comment, as they should, be allowed to be shared. However it's a rabbit hole we should avoid here. Which is not to say on the other forum I didn't express myself, but things got ugly there quickly.

I’d like to suggest an update to the banning policy as well:

If a user, "koriwhat" in this exact instance, has admitted to stealing users’ emails and passwords, including but not limited to accounts from SpursTalk.com and BaselineBum.com, they too should be permanently banned as well.

This is no laughing matter and is in fact actually identity theft, and the offender could in fact be imprisoned for said offense. I have all of the evidence as well.

If you want us to start banning folks based on their past actions, please lead the way by posting your ST handle, and your real name so we can do a casual background check. Otherwise, STFU up already.

I was going to say, instead of banning someone for breaking a rule, what should be done is that they are only allowed to post in the sochan thread and the only way that is lifted is that they make an argument that sochan is actually a good player. Pretty sure most would just commit internet seppuku at that point.
