Cade looked pretty embarrassing. That Vassell play isn't a foul. You can hit the arms on the follow-through if you get the ball cleanly initially. In contrast, you aren't actually allowed to throw your shoulder into someone who's next to you. You might get away with it, but it is against the rules. So yeah, it's shitty that he's fine doing things like the latter and then complains about the former. It was bitch-made stuff.
A lot of people think that good defense and physical defense are the same thing. Good, effective, defense means keeping the other team from scoring. It doesn't mean "making them feel you". It doesn't mean "getting in their head". So long as the opposing team isn't able to score efficiently, you're doing your job.
The Medium Three Spurs were not a physical defense. They didn't rely on any extracurricular shit to shut down their opponents. They didn't try to start fights. They just showed up and stopped the other team from scoring and then went home. They didn't even generate bad blood in their opponents. And the Spurs weren't just that way because they were "nice". They did that because it prevented anyone from being able to get an edge against them.
The Pistons are a manufactured defense, dependent on the whistle and the system to protect them. Bullies aren't strong and determined. They aren't alphas. They are sniveling cowards who pick on you in the dark and then cry like a bitch as soon as an authority figure is nearby. I have no idea why any team would aspire to that label.

Pistons are a fake team tbh. If they weren’t in the East they’d be at risk of losing in the first round just like us.
