They are definitely going to want to keep the team USA versus team world format because this was successful. So if you go back to captains that wouldn’t really work. Because they can only pick American or international players.

The format worked not because of USA v. World, but because of the short games (besides the obvious fact that players actually tried). You can do Married v. Singles and the thing would still work, as long as you keep the games short with a much smaller chance for blowouts.

How is it that Nephew turning 35 this year and still playing like he is still in the peak?

Maybe those load management throughout his career is finally paying off and this allows him to somehow reach/maintain his peak at mid-30s age.

Oh, is this year his contract year again?

Who doesn't at this day and age? 35 isn't what it used to be, tbh. Professional athletes playing well into their late 30's is pretty much the norm across all sports now.
