What are you playing right now?

Finally decided to check out Ghost of Yotei. So far it's basically just Ghost of Tsushima but with a female protagonist. The first game was good so I get they didn't need to reinvent the wheel but feels like everything is basically the same gameplay wise so far
But do you follow green birds this time?

Weren't they gold birds? It's been a minute

But no birds so far. Only 4 hours in
How the hell do you know where to go without a yellow bird to follow? Girlfriend Reviews rolling in her grave.

If anyone wants to buy a console, gpu, or VR set any time in the next year I really suggest you do it right now. OpenAI buying up 40% of the entire world's RAM production capacity for 2026 has sent RAM prices through the roof and that shit is a few weeks at most from hitting the prices of gpus, consoles, VR sets, hell anything that needs RAM HARD.

Picked up MLB The Show 25 on a BF sale. Gotta say the game seems incredibly realistic. I did a suicide squeeze play with Tommy Edman against the Yankees and Gerrit Cole didn't cover first. Though this time it wasn't Cole being lazy, instead he ran into the first baseman fielding the bunt. :st-lol:

Still nailed the Yankees low baseball IQ though.

Anyone played this one at the arcade?

3 insanely good games this year for me are Hades 2, Silksong, and Arc Raiders.

I also built a sim rig and have been racing this year, mostly on Automobilista 2 and Dirt Rally 2. Both incredible racing games.

Just got an RTX 5070 which is enough to brute force FFVII Rebirth into good performance. Bought Rebirth at launch on PS5 so don't feel bad about pirating the PoorC version, as the PS5 nearest neighbor upscaling was gross. But the game looks so much better with DLSS 4 as the upscaler instead.

I want to play Arc Raiders but as a solo player I feel like I'm just gonna to get ambushed constantly. I'm hearing the community has a lot of people who like to camp and kill people at extraction and steal their shit. Should I stay away as a solo player?

Anyone getting a Steam Machine?
Can't say I'm excited about a system with a worse gpu than in base PS5 with only 8GB VRAM that is also likely to be $700 to $800. I don't see the advantage over Playstation. Steam games are more expensive than PS5 for the first couple of years of release and only get cheap when they're old. But those old games get cheap on Playstation too. Steam always gets this reputation as affordable because every Steam sale I can pick up Portal 2 for $2 or Sleeping Dogs for $3 but when it comes to the games I actually want to play PS5 is usually cheaper, especially with competition for physical sales.

I'm almost never shot in 1s. 2s is pretty chill too. 3s is very aggressive.

There's a huge cost savings with steam though - when I bought my steam deck I instantly had 600+ games available for it. I didn't have to go out and buy separate copies because it's on a new device.

Also given that plenty of games go on sale pre launch or on the first sale, there are humble bundle deals etc, steam is way cheaper unless you *only* want to play the newest AAA games. My two games of the year right now I paid $40 combined, brand new, day of release. You're not getting that on a ps5 exclusive anytime soon.

How many of those 600+ games have you actually played and how many are you going to want to play going forward thouogh? Physical games are the biggest upside for PS5 for me. Unless you want to go the shady G2A keys route the competition between Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart, Gamestop, Target, etc for physical sales usually beats the price I can get for the PC games I want to play if I stick to legit places like Steam, Humble, Fanatical, GOG, etc. Buy a physical game on sale for $40, finish it, then sell it for $30+. The upside of PC for me is brute forcing games that run like shit on console like Elden Ring, Rebirth, or FFXVI or games like Cyberpunk or Control I wanna crank way beyond console settings. But Steam Box loses there for me because it's weaker than PS5. Indies don't do a whole lot for me other than the brilliant Sifu from a couple of years ago and I hate online gaming, which I recognize PC is way better for. But it means nothing to me, as I haven't been into online shooters since way back in the days of Unreal Tournament 2004. Last time I tried an online shooter was Battlefield 1 and shit didn't click at all.

I'm not playing but I did find a hilarious GTA RP youtube channel worth checking out, specifically a couple videos from the creator. If only GTA on consoles was like that of GTA on the PC. I'm missing out so much on my PS5 even though I rarely play it outside of NBA2K. The channel is JMW Films and the particular videos in question are "imaginary friend" and "making a movie". So damn hilarious!

Btw, yesterday my lady surprised me with NBA2K26 when I got home from work. She kept asking me, "what is that over there?", and I looked right at 2K26 and was like, "my games?", until I finally noticed who was on the front cover. Unfortunately, I have too much atm to take care of to start on 2K26 rn. Bummed out... LOL

Are you getting the Steam PC? Looks pretty cool and that platform itself, running on a distro of Linux, is as cool as it gets.

I ran both Bazzite and ChimeraOS vm's at one time but didn't mess with either much because of the specs of the PC I was running as a server.

Alright so tried Arc Raiders and got killed immediately in the first two matches by some camping asshole. Managed to extract while down on the third match. Then tried to sneak up on someone and ended up getting killed again :st-lol: kinda frustrating but I can definitely see the appeal of this game
