This thread is for free thinking and non-conformist Spurs fans who won't shy away from expressing their inner thoughts on the team and the organization as a whole.

This thread is for those who are not afraid to get accused of "trolling', "cliff-jumping" or otherwise not being "true Spurs fans".

This is the thread of opinions that will ultimately get you like this (below picture) and I can't wait to hear it from you.

I'll start firing away myself:

- Stephon Castle is ALREADY our second best and second most important player. It doesn't reflect well on Fox-- and spare me the "he's accommodating the youngsters" talk.

- The Spurs have become Warriors-level of league darlings because of Wemby. While it is understandable because Wembanyama is in Jordan/Lebron stratosphere of megastar (not just a superstar) the excessive glazing can feel cringeworthy to other fanbases.

- The Harper situation has real 'Harden at OKC' potential. They should not allow similar thoughts to creep into his mind VERY SOON.

Yesterday's loss might have cost us a championship.

With that said, anything can happen and sometimes the road that looks tougher ends up being the best one. Prove me wrong once again this season and win the whole thing, boys. If not, I'll be proud either way, unless you completely shit the bed. Please don't shit the bed.

If we are strong, we can take anyone

pounding the rock AND going through the fire

No matter how the season ends or the potential blowback from him or his representation at the timing or destination, they should try to get out of the Fox contract immediately.

With his heir apparent already in place, 30% max for smallish guard, who's already struggling to generate rim pressure, remains a minus shooter, middling play maker and neutral to minus defender, in a climate where various stars and starry names have been salary dumped within' the past year.

The resources tied up in him would be better served spread among a third guard that's a plus shooter as well a playable third big.

This team wouldn't have won more than 45 games with pre-stroke Pop still in charge.

Would you agree with my take above that Castle is ALREADY our second best and second most important player since you were still low on him deep into this season?

It's close enough to be debatable, but I'd still lean Fox because of the longevity at this level and the fact that he's sacrificed his more suited and traditional role to accommodate Castle and Harper specifically.

If we don't win it this year, we're not gonna be able to just let our guys develop, teams like the Jazz are going to be WAY WAY better next season.

I’ll add Castle is 2nd best player in my opinion due to his defensive impact and his growing offensive game. Fox is too inconsistent and you don’t know what you’ll get from him on offense, while his defense is nowhere near Castle’s pedigree!

Going out in a limb to say that the Spurs need to add an “offensive mind” to this coaching staff to help Mitch make adjustments during games. I see the players routinely all park on the perimeter and not a lot of motion though the lane

Im belong to this thread. :st-lmao: Some poster here accused me of trolling when all i did was just stating facts and not one of blind homer.

I think there's a real chance that our team steps backward immensely in 3 point shooting in the playoffs. I simply don't trust guys like Julian, Castle, Harper, to make 3 pointers with intense defense

I'm avoiding this forum lately because I'm certain that the shower curtain hanging because of a meaningless loss yesterday is causing people to say that the spurs are going to get beat in the first round.

This is actually my main concern with this team. I know we’ve looked better over the past couple of months, but I still think our lack of shooting might be our downfall in the playoffs.

Vassell is our best shooter and probably the one I’m least worried about. Champagnie is a role player and can’t (nor should be) relied upon to consistently buoy the offense. Wemby’s deep shot seems wildly streaky and he’ll either go 6/9 or 1/6 :st-lol:

Then outside of those 3, it gets even less comforting. Fox/Harper/Castle/Keldon/Bryant all have their flashes but I wouldn’t exactly be shocked if several of those four shoot <35% in the playoffs. Barnes is actually one of the guys I’m least worried about but then he presents issues in other facets.

The Spurs’ chances to win a title are still very slim.. I don’t know how unpopular that is anymore though after we lost to Denver yesterday.

Glad OP has a safe space for all the reactionary stuff he’s gonna flood the forums with every loss though.

It is not reactionary. It is called speaking your mind away from conventional wisdom and homerism..if you want to be "everything is fine and dandy" poster that is your prerogative and is to be respected. Almost everyone above posted a reasonably edgy take and not some loony opinion . So I'm not sure why are you so intent on policing thought.

You can't be a homer, since you outed yourself as a Wemby fan only.
