Player The restricted-age video store section of Dylan Harper

He's not better.
He's more polished and I'd say trustworthy. Wemby was erratic and all over the place, but still amazing.
Eh rookie Wemby took way too many threes with a one to one assist to turnover ratio. Wemby's best games were better than Harpers best games but he also got way more touches.

Victor definitely had some amazing games, though. He may have cost Denver the Championship by beating them towards the end of the season and screwing up their seeding for the playoffs (I can't remember if it cost them the number 1 or number 2 seed?). If they were on Dallas' side of the bracket, they likely beat the Mavs and possibly set themselves up for a finals run.

I don't really want to compare the two. Dylan's on a much better team and he's doing great with the touches he's getting and playing with great poise/calm demeanour for someone so young. And like LeBowen mentioned, Vic was erratic in games during his rookie year (he still had some amazing games/results).

you can for sure say more polished since Duncan. His ability to go right is incredible. If I never saw him shoot, I would think he is right handed.

This is by far my fav type of basketball to watch. In the age of 3s, getting to watch this style of clean drives to the basket night in night out is a joy. Kid’s quickly becoming my fav player.

If he adds a descent 3 he might be the final form of an upgraded Manu, which to this day is my fav player ever. A man can dream

It’s funny - he reminds me a lot of both Manu and TP. Obviously the lefty aspect + some of the craftiness makes you think of Manu…but the way he’s able to somehow get shots in the paint when there’s seemingly no room at all is very Parker-esque. You’re sitting there thinking he’s going to get blocked and next thing you know it’s going off the backboard and into the net.

Just wild how many of these finishes are with his off-hand.

If Harper stays healthy and continues to get considerable playing time, I think he'll have a legit shot at ROTY. Especially if any of Wemby/Fox/Castle miss more time.
Just watching him attack the rim and dribble I would be hard pressed to identify his dominant hand. Crazy to see in a 19 year old.

Exactly. Parker's speed on the first step to get around the defender. Ginobili's changes of direction, left hand, and footwork. Parker's finishing. He complements Bully Castle so well. A genuine smooth criminal.

Right now, he is ranked 7. Statistically, other rookies are doing better at the moment.

Oh really?
I thought his dream destination was Nico's team or waiting out the worst contracts in the league in Philadelphia.

Even if he keeps it up and gets more minutes, ROY is going to be tough because the competition this year is really thick. Ultimately, I think he's got a clear path to be the best PG in the NBA so while I want him to win ROY I don't really gaf all that much.

If he can stay within a couple of pts/gm of the ROTY front runners, Dylan probably has a decent shot at ROTY, especially if the Spurs leap into 50-win category. Currently he's ranked 7th on the NBA's official rookie rankings, https://www.nba.com/news/kia-rookie-ladder-dec-10-2025, and he can help himsef a lot with ROTY-level performances in the upcoming OKC games.

Let's fire up the narrative, Harper (ROTY), KJ (6MoY), and Luke (general overall awesomeness), combine to form the best bench in the league and propel the Spurs to 50+ wins and a home court in round 1 of the playoffs. It's not hard to see it.

If he starts knocking down jumpers, ROY is very much within reach. He is number 7 exclusively because of injuries, he has played better than Flagg and Kon.
