Player The restricted-age video store section of Dylan Harper

Harper's play late in the 4th on that 14-0 run or whatever it was may have won the Spurs the game. At the very least, it turned the game around in the favour of the Spurs. Great to see him adjust within a single game after not starting well.

Harper just has a game that transfers to the NBA immediately with his driving and passing ability. Having Fox out at the start is also a great way to get him more early reps.

loved the clutch plays from harper down the stretch, but think what i love most is seeing he’s not scared of the moments. Especially when playing next to a player like wemby. spurs really lucked out.

24 minutes per game for the first two games is solid. I think we'll have that 3 guard x 32 min/game rotation pretty soon. No doubt the +- metrics for each of three combos will be fun to track.

So much more good than bad with Harper.

You can see how electric and exciting he is. You live with the mistakes everyday with all the positives. Definitely has some work to do. As good as he was during the 14-0 run was as bad as he was in the last 2 minutes. That's ok, cause Dylan needs moments like these to really unlock his potential. Its game 2.

I expect that to be cleaned up by game 20.

Love how he just finds ways to contribute in game. Such a smart player who adjusts to the opponent and contributes.

He gets in the lane seamlessly and once he adjusts to the nba speed and length he can be absolutely buckets.

Between him and castle the spurs have two ball handling perimeter players who have great vision. I’m stoked.

Harper is getting a lot of shots off at the rim but not making many of them whereas in college he was converting a preposterous amount of those looks, like 70% iirc

I think he did get fouled a lot with no calls but that is just typical rookie stuff. Just needs to adjust to the fact he isn't getting a Rutgers whistle.

Yea Harper is getting "rooked" by the refs right now, same thing we saw with Castle the 1st half of last season. He is getting hammered on his drives and just no whistle.

Really encouraged by his game so far even though the efficiency is bad. Have to keep in mind that he has only been going full contact for 2 weeks due to the thumb injury, still getting his timing and shot back. The fact he is getting this much of a role this early despite his setback is good to see. He ignited that 14-0 run to get the Spurs back in the game, he is going to have some games this year where he takes over for stretches.

his best play to me was the in and out dribble before making the pick & roll pass to Kornet. That little dribble move freed up the lane enough for Kornet to get a dunk. Just high IQ stuff.

I’m impressed with his NBA maturity from day 1, very composed and not and not shy of the moment especially playing with the likes of Wemby as people mentioned. And defensively, he’s a pest. Very smart and already knows how to dictate the tempo. Sure Edgecombe and Queen look awesome, but just this draft is really deep. I’d still draft Dylan any day because he could be a Jason Kidd, or a CP3, just very smart general.

One thing that I don't really think about is that both Dylan (and last year Stephon), they both get to practice against Victor. So I am thinking that because they get to go against him at practice, they're not that fazed in real games. Any young player with a good skill level is really going to benefit practicing against the best defensive player in the NBA. It's going to improve their game and confidence tremendously. This is one reason I think Fox could explode when he comes back. He would have been practicing/playing games against Victor all summer, Steph and Dylan, so I think he will shred other defenders in real games. Iron sharpens iron kind of thing.

True that. You can see on the faces of some opponents they're scared shitless and intimidated by the giant alien. Maybe Dylan and Stephon seeing that insane shit everyday in practice gives them an unfazed edge. Not many players have the advantage of practising and training against that type of opponent. Harpers shooting % was poor last game but he wasn't gun shy which is good, as long as he doesn't overdo it when things aren't going his way.

3-0 today? Every win makes a difference now between play in or playoffs or missing out altogether

I'm 100000% sure Dallas wanted Harper but just couldn't because of the backlash it'd have generated not taking the "golden (white) boy".

He's exactly what they need since Kyrie got injured and for their future at the position considering his age.
