I never said pull back tbh. If they let up its possible Houston could overtake them with how easy their schedule is the rest of the way. However, its also a fact OKC has the elite depth 1-13 to win games without SGA while the Spurs are only deep 1-9/10.

Over the past 3 months, or since the start of December, the Spurs are 30-10. The Thunder are 25-14. If the Spurs merely continue on the same rate that they have been on over that period of time, which is the majority of the NBA season, they will overtake the Thunder. They are only one back in the loss column.

I don't think people properly appreciate that the Spurs are quite literally the best team in the NBA RIGHT NOW. I still think OKC is favored to hold on, but its not a large margin and the Spurs definitely shoudln't feel like its a lost cause or that they should accept the 2 position and I am confident they do not.

Denver running out of time to get a healthy team and build some semblance of chemistry heading into the playoffs. It's probably already too late tbh.

They're great offensively but are just trash on defense.

Unless Gordon and Watson come back ASAP and healthy, I just can't see them getting enough consistent stops to get to the WCF. I think OKC takes them out in 6 or less tbh.

Also need to consider the Thunder have been ravaged by injuries during that span. Spurs obviously had their own injury issues the first third of the season to even things out on that front.

Agreed on the second part. Spurs can stay within striking distance the rest of the season if they really want to; its not a lost cause. I just don't want to see the Spurs gun for the best record only to get injured and fall flat on their faces in the postseason like 2011 and the Cavs last season. This team has the confidence and knowledge they can beat OKC in OKC at full strength.

Nuggets should just shut down Jokic for a few more weeks to get his knee right if it's still bothering him and bring Gordon/Watson back in a month. That'd give them almost a month to gel and build chemistry. They wouldn't fall any further than 7 and would still be able to climb out of the play-in tbh.

Legit forgot the Celtics traded for Vucevic tbh. If Tatum can come back and be just an elite role player they can absolutely come out of the East.

If the Spurs fall flat trying to get the 1 seed then frankly they are going to fall flat long before the finals either way. Especially with this many young legs.

The point about OKC having lots of injuries is explanatory but also indicative that they will continue to have that issue and another reason to believe they are definitely catchable.

Gonna come down to these next three weeks for the Spurs. If they can come out of it with only 2 or 3 losses they'll have a shot. That said, only must-wins are the Rockets and Nuggets.

I mean Boris Durke I hate 'cause of that condescending, non-basketball voice she has but the fact she seems to always root against the Spurs for some reason just adds fuel to the fire.
Cuff that B!

hilarious. Vassell is way better this season.
I give Brian Wright credit for sitting out few trades that gained some traction back then (Trae Young, Cam Johnson, Porzingis). The jury is still out on Markkanen which would have meant no Fox, but the prize for the latter made it no-brainer unlike with former where we would have been bled dry by Danny Ainge (no Carter Bryant and/or no ATL'26 pick)..

So always do the opposite of what baselinebums want. Genius!

Cam Johnson lost the game for the Nuggets. Why did they give up on Michael Porter Jr? Beats me. Tim Hardaway was even worse.

Is Adam Silver going to keep letting that scumbag Dort get away with it? When will he act? When that dirtbag shatters Wemby's knee?

What a dirty piece of shit. Silver needs to bring the hammer down before this talentless thug takes out one of the stars of the league.

Who are the fucking moron commentators that didn't understand what was going on here?

doris and the espn flunkie crew. I was hoping she was part of the recent espn layoffs

I had to replay it to make sure Doris really said Chet was the best rim protector in the league tbh

Lots of people weren't on Trae's bandwagon (I certainly wasn't), reports are they were after Porzingis but couldn't get it done so no point in praising them for trying and failing, and Cam Johnson would have been a good addition on the court, the problem was the price tag. Markkanen would have cost a ridiculous amount of assets, IMO they did well staying away.

Spurs need to find a couple enforcers to throw on the court on games like these, turning the other cheek is nice and all until someone takes Wemby out of the playoffs with one such play. I'm tempted to pay someone just to replicate that behavior to the star of whichever team is doing that to Wemby.
