Who do you see us losing to in a best of seven tbh, Denver? This team is very deep, young, and talented, similar to the early 2010s OKC teams, the only concern is their three point defense is bad
Who I think they'd beat in 6 or less:
Lakers
Rockets
Clippers
Guests

Toss-up:
Dubs
Suns (for now)
Thunder

Lose to:
Nuggets
T'Pups

For me, it's Minnesota. OKC is still a toss up for me despite how well we match up. Denver is too plagued by injuries. We match up well with Houston and the Lakers. Suns are a tough one to gauge but if we can't beat them then we never belonged, tbh.

2003 says hi.

....But in all seriousness, I don't believe Minnesota is a true playoff contender that won't fold come playoff time. They're a great home team vs the likes of us and OKC but in the playoffs we'll have HCA.

They're an elite 3-pt shooting team with a player equal to or better than Wemby tbh. Their depth issues also won't be a problem in a potential matchup since they have multiple players who routinely kill the Spurs. Denver is the same as well, and both are veteran teams.

I like keeping this meme alive. :st-toast:

...but in all seriousness. Phoenix's talent is inferior, Minnesota is second round fodder and GSW's only chance is Curry, they're past their prime and he won't be hot for 7 games

Edwards is good but he's not Wemby or SGA tier. The three pointers are a problem and something that needs to be fixed in coaching for sure. Denver is veteran for sure but their defense is very sus from top to bottom. Murray and Jokic are bad on that side of the ball.

Remember tllong? He made a thread back in the day calling the Blazers the Guestest team in the West during a random December and it predictably blew up in his face.

December 2013. Not coincidentally, we squashed them bad in the second round of the playoffs that year en route to the championship.

Funny thing is that since I have recolection I've never ever seen the Blazers be the best team in the West, tbh. :st-lol:

In SpursTalk there was this Blazers fan (who was a bit of a douche) and made a thread trying to say the Blazers were the best team in the West. He wrote "guest" instead.
Ahhhh finally a lingering cloud over my head has cleared. Thank you, hermano.

Suns and Dubs are elite 3-pt shooting teams (something this Spurs team has struggled with all season) with elite defenses and proven playoff scorers and top-10 players in Booker and Curry tbh. Suns have also handedly beaten the Spurs twice this season and the Spurs' only win against the Dubs came with Curry out; a healthy Porzingod would also be a big issue for the Spurs but thats a big if. Hence both being a coin-flips.

Minny is the same but with an even better top option and has been to the WCF in b2b seasons.

Ant is absolutely on their levels tbh. Denver has a load of 40% 3-pt shooters and their defense is underrated (need a healthy Gordon tbh). They're also proven champions.

I probably should have mentioned twenty, fifteen or even ten years ago.

Shoot me in the head whenever allowing 113.5 PPG is considered an "elite defense" in the NBA. Seriously. I grew up with "first team to eighty wins" and not just the Spurs. The NBA was better that way.

Gotta adjust for the pace of :st-lol: today's NBA tbh. A 115 PPG is equivalent to 85 PPG from 20 years ago iirc.
