Funny how noone questions Redick's competence, he's the one responsible for Luka's injury.
Had him at 39mpg over the past weeks, continued playing him while getting blown out by OKC despite a hamstring injury and then it snapped.
All to cover his ass and get the third seed to make people think he's a good coach.

If this was Thibs, the entire media would be on him.

As for Luka, 315/410 games played over the past 5 years. Nico's claims weren't baseless, it's just that the execution was terrible.
Luka is 27 with heavy mileage since he was like 15, no way the Lakers contend with a brand new roster next season, it takes time. If they even get the right role players, which isn't likely to happen with Pelinka.
Won't have another serious playoff run before he's at least 29.

Always hated reddick since he was a clipper.

That mind the game podcast was always a klutch-sponsored job interview. Him and bron are both snakes.

Glad leshit’s lakers tenure is coming to a close with a fake bubble ring and zero success outside of it proving its fraudulence

Lakers fans complaining about how Luka/Lebron/Reaves trio never got a chance in the playoffs. :st-lmao:
What the fuck where they watching at OKC, do they think it wouldn't have been even worse in the playoffs? :st-lmao:

We can only thank LeGM for keeping the Lakers irrelevant and delaying their rebuild.

They were down by 30 by the time Luka got injured :st-lol:

They also wouldn't have even played OKC because the Spurs would have absolutely dog walked them in the 2nd round tbh.

I really hope that Pelinka & Co. think Luka & Reaves is enough to build around going forward tbh

Without Doncic and Reaves I can't see the Lakers winning another game this season tbh. Denver can go 2-3 and still get the 3 seed.

Facing Denver in the 2nd Round is gonna suck tbh. But I still believe in our guys despite today's colossal choke-job.

This was probably a microcosm of how a series vs them would play out. The Spurs are better and are likely to control the majority of it, only to lose the majority of crunch time games because they don't really have a tried and true half court offensive formula for these scenarios.

As for the Nuggets, has a team ever had to accomplish less to be so revered? I know it's not all about championships and you need a lot of luck to win them, but fans and media alike speak of them as if they're five time champions.

OKC tbh. One of the weakest title runs in NBA history imo. People talk about them as if they're some sort of dynasty.

Denver beats them in Game 7 if Gordon didn't go down. And they should have been able to take down the Pacers in less than 7 games. Also debatable that Celtics would have been there to beat them if Tatum didn't get hurt in the 2nd round.

Agreed. Although I may have to stfu if they win in all again this season. :st-lol:

So what are the chances LA stays in front of Denver in the standings? I really would have loved to keep Denver on the other side of the bracket.

Pretty much zero. Not sure if you saw the latest, but Reaves is out for the rest of the regular season as well.

They probably are because of all the BS they get away with. They might not even be able to play us because we have to deal with Denver. FML...
Fucking Lakers. Worthless sacks of shit tbh :st-lol: Even if we do get past Denver it'll probably be a 7 game series. OKC might lose 1 or 2 games on the way to the WCF with how things are shaking out.

The difference is, the Thunder's age, depth, assets and metrics all indicate a potential dynasty.

The Nuggets had one of the weakest title runs by opponent SRS in history.

LAL: @DAL, OKC, @GSW, PHO, UTA
DEN: POR, MEM, OKC, @SAS

The issue is that OKC probably sits everyone against Denver to push them to our side of the bracket.
They're likely going 3-0 before they meet us on the final day of the season.
Lakers have h2h and the Nuggets need to have more wins than them, they're tied right now.

I'm not even sure they beat the Mavs and if the Jazz are locked into their lottery position, they also might give them a beating on the final day of the season.
Basically we need to beat the Nuggets and hope that Lebron can miraculously go 3-2 by himself.
We really fucked up today when it comes to seeding, OKC will basically have a free pass against the Rockets...unless the Nuggets decide they'd rather not play the Timberwolves in the first round, but they can't really do that since they'd probably finish behind the Rockets.

Ah, fuck it. Spurs were never good at this.

Fuck you. But thanks for this. Really appreciate the breakdown tbh

I’m going to say something super obvious. The Spurs were never going to be champions if they can’t overcome the Nuggets in a 7 series and if they can’t overcome the Thunder in a 7 game series after that. Fuck the “it’s going to be harder if x, y, and z” noise. If the Spurs are destined to be champs, they’ll be champs no matter who is in front of them.

We handed OKC 3 losses and then Denver hands us 2 out of our last 3 losses.

Beating Denver in the 2nd round might be our superbowl, tbh.

I think we win vs Denver. The problem is having to face OKC after a Denver series
Maybe. Idk. Today was our first real test in a long time and we melted down pretty hard tbh. Winning a ton of RS games is still awesome and it's been an incredible run this season no matter what happens, but being this young and inexperienced really matters come Playoff time. Playoffs are just a different animal. That's why it's always the veteran teams that win it all. Spurs will likely have to take their lumps like every other young team before they can ring tbh.

I had us beating Denver if Aaron Gordon's injury continues. He really makes a difference for them when healthy. Healthy Denver would actually be a tougher matchup for us than OKC, tbh.

Both teams fully healthy I got Denver in 6. Also have Denver beating OKC in 6 assuming health tbh.
Yea a veteran Nuggets team with arguably the best player in the world in Jokic will be really tough in a 7-game series. We may not be able to overcome them with as much experience as they have. But at least we'll have HCA which gives a decent shot. Either way, it'll give our guys the Playoff experience necessary to get over the hump in the coming years.
