News The Official Check Here Before Asking About Injury Return Dates Thread

Memphis is going to struggle to have the legal 8 players, based on their injury report. One of their questionable MUST play, assuming a full 15 man roster.
They'll have enough players even if both Ja and Williams are out

Spencer
JJJ
Landale
Wells
Aldama
KCP
GG Jackson
Koloko

And they have Javon Small and OMax Prosper on two-ways they can call up (and maybe already have, based on this injury report).

Is the minutes restriction thing just a compromise between Wemby wanting to play his normal minutes (28-30) and the Spurs wanting him to not play at all? Along with the 65-game threshold?

I’ll take it, but boy it feels like we haven’t seen a non-minutes restriction, non-off the bench Wemby since November.

I don't think 28-30 is his normal minutes. He played over 33mpg last yr, 33 this year as a starter, over 35mpg in Nov. He's only under 30 bc the 24mpg off the bench.
I don't fully understand the prolonged minutes restriction (seems arbitrary to me), but I think both he and the Spurs want/expect him to be a 33-36mpg guy.

Just finished watching the game. Probably shouldn't come on here to vent.
Won't beat the Lakers without him IMO and also might not beat Memphis either. Spurs are being overly cautious IMO, but I understand why. I don't like it, but I understand.
Wow, looks like I was completely wrong. Not only did the Spurs lose, but they lose with Victor playing, and playing well in 21 minutes.
This team is looking like complete and utter crap. I could outshoot most of these guys. Absolutely disgraceful shooting these past few weeks. It may have backfired on the Spurs drafting so many poor shooters. They're not getting better, they're getting worse.

+35 in 21 minutes incoming
I haven't checked his plus/minus yet, but I am guessing he was a plus. Edit : Looks like he just scraped over to a +2.

Looks like the Spurs needed him to play more to have won this game against and injury depleted Memphis team.

Link? I don't remember them putting an actual timeline around it.
Sorry, but I have no idea in which topic was it linked, the forum is becoming too active. :D

Someone linked a tweet about adductor injuries and the timeline is between 2 and 4 weeks.
Castle had the same thing, despite hip issue being the initial diagnosis.
Then it's about severity of it, since everything in that area needs to fully heal because the risk of aggravating is high.

The only thing close to official I recall seeing about Vassell is Mitch stating it would be "more than 1 or 2 games"

Yeah, this is all I remember. I didn't see 2 and 4 weeks mentioned anywhere (not saying it wasn't).
