Player The Burgeoning 3&D American Sign Language Consulate of Carter Bryant

Okay young fella time to get back to the real world. I really feel like CB will be the x-factor in the second half of the season and a potential deep playoff run.

This kid is doing great every stint he gets now. I don't know why Mitch doesn't play him more. He needs to start getting some real minutes before it's too late for the playoffs. One injury to one of Vassell, Champ or Barnes and we're gonna need him.

Think Mitch has started to slowly tightening the rotation....kinda simulating close tight game in the playoffs which the rotation will be even tighter

Yeah all starters with 30+ minutes, Wemby even 36 which shows that Mitch took that game very seriously. This was not the night to play CB extensively.

He had an amazing showing last night tbh, didn't look like a rookie at all. Took the physicality to the chest and still made 3's and plays.

I kept thinking about that article of him playing against the deaf squad, that's some amazing preparation for playoff ball :st-lol: he's going to be an X factor in one of our postseason series, kid has got it

I wasn't talking specifically about last game. Just last games in general. Mitch plays him in the first half and no matter how well the kid does, he doesn't get a run in the 2nd half.

I think it's a mistake, tbh. Like I said above, we only have 3 wings players, if one goes down, Bryant will need to step up in the playoffs without much run.

Honestly, I don’t think Carter would have seen the floor at all if Kornet doesn’t get dinged.

Hasn't that happened over the past month?
Bryant has jumped from 8.5mpg with 11 DNP-CDs over the first 37 games, to 14.5mpg and 0 over the past 9 Feb games. And now Sochan is gone and those minutes are open and a chunk of them will go to CB, just prolly not against the best-of-the-best where Mitch will run a stricter PO rotation. PO rotations are normally 8 guys, ours will be 9 + whatever CB can give us.

How much more run do you want Carter to get?
Sure looks like he'll be 15ish+mpg moving forward, solid for a 10th man and enough run to grow on a team fighting for the #1 seed. HB is already under 24mpg in Feb and it'd be really really great if he found a grove for the POs.

I'm high on CB but 15+mpg sounds like plenty for a 20y/o 10th man and he's played that in more than 1/2 the games this month while the the PO rotations have been tightening and that was before Sochan was cut loose.

I really like how we're using CB so far.
He's getting some consistent run, mostly in the first half, and getting a chance to develop and show how much he's already improved.
Getting 10-15 minutes of high effort defense and 3pt shooting from him is awesome.
Late in games our rotation tightens up and he's not being put in positions where he may not be ready yet.
I can also see some matchup specific situations where we would play him more.

Haven't seen a lot of chatter about it, but CB's 3ball has looked quite nice of late. Since Jan 15 when he really became part of the regular rotation (though some nights that's only for 2Q stints), he's 40.8% (20/49) from 3.

Really promising on that front.

The biggest difference is he’s getting more height on it. That means he’s not fighting the rim as much. It’s nice to see the ball splash for him now

his release isnt that quick but he's been shooting it directly into contests with confidence

He's got that Tatum hitch in his shot, he's so long it doesn't matter
and the spurs arent asking him to take the Vassell/Champagnie/Barnes tightly contested quick release shots. he's more so being asked to take the Keldon/Castle/Harper shots where his feet are cleanly set and its a pretty straightforward stationary catch and shoot.

I jinxed the kid into 0-4. That is squarely on my. I am sorry.

This kid’s play has gone down the shitter again, Middleton might be a better option as the playoffs are right around the corner.

Not sure if it is me....but CB seems to have lost some 'swag' after he lost the dunk contest tbh.

Prior to the dunk contest, he was shooting with confidence....even the Rising Stars game his vibes were good and contributing well on both ends.

After the dunk contest, it seems like he kinda 'disappear' a bit...

I don't understand why Carter didn't get his usual 1st half minutes today. Don't like that call by Mitch.
