Player The blessed howl's moving Castle of Stephon Javonte

Has Steph already turned the corner on his shooting, at least with everyone healthy?

Started this season at 26.5% pre-New Years with all of the injuries/rotation chaos.

Since New Years, across 39 games, Steph is shooting over 37% on 3.5 attempts and taking almost 1/3 of his shots from deep. That's legit sample size.
And its been way better since Vassell returned & Champ took over at the end of January, keeping guys guarding the corner 3.
With this full squad, Steph is over 40% from deep in his last 25 games of 64 played. That's 40% of his season shooting over 40%.

I didn't realize he was shooting this well in 2026. In the playoffs, teams are gonna have to either dare Fox or Steph to shoot, but he's so dangerous drawing fouls seems like obvious answer to give space and make him beat you from deep.
If he can keep shotting at an above average clip, we are going to be very difficult to beat.

soooooo... are we ready to ditch the castle is a wing eternal debate, yet?
No, we have to watch him continually bring the ball up the court and initiate the offense and other guard things another hundred thousand times first.

Man I just can't believe how good this dude is, much less this fast.
I was high on him, thought he could be a Jimmy Butler-lite, borderline AS in his prime.
His per 36 this yr- 20.1/8.8/6.3/1.8 stocks, 2.3:1 Ast/TOs, TS 57.5% and a usage of 25% at 21

Butler's best two per 36- 23/7.6/7.4/2.6, Ast/TOs 3.5:1, TS 60.7%, usage of 26.6% at 31
24.7/5.7/6.3/2.4, 3.3:1, TS 64.7%, 25.6% usage at 33
Butler was a 30 y/o, 4x AS, 2x All-NBA before he put a season as good as Steph's 2nd yr. If Steph just cleans up the bad TOs he's already at Prime Jimmy Butler level and just off peak Jimmy.
Bonkers

I don't think we can say he's turned the corner permanently on shooting. Stroke looks good, its falling, but Players go through long spells where they shoot well and then regress. Its normal. A couple of hundred shots is something but statistical outliers on samples that size happen a lot on random events and shooting is not a random event so it happens even more often! He's shooting well right now, it looks good, and the trend has been promising for awhile so theres a lot of reasoning to be optimistic but I won't say he's turned a corner until he's done it for years.

I will say this though, I don't think he's ever going back to shooting sub 30%. I don't know that he's a 40% shooter from deep, or even 35%, but nothing makes me think he's where he was last year.

Peak Jimmy is playoffs Jimmy, which is a #1 option on a finals team. Most loved Castle's upside and he's exceeded every expectation, but he's not close to that level yet. Let's keep the sanity.
