Misc The abandoned East European server room of LJ and Kori Ellis

I'd just like to know why was it too hard for LJ to tell us he had nothing to do with the servers.
He was posting grades and just ignoring everyone.

Please consider selling the domain or allowing ST to redirect here so that we can have a reliable forum.

Thanks GoN for setting this up!

I hope Kori and LJ are well. Followed them from SpursReport all those years ago. Spurstalk has been a part of my Spurs fandom for a very long time. I'm not in touch with the anymore to even know what the situation with Spurstalk is, was, or will be, but super appreciative for what they provided all these years. We need the fan forum because stuff out in the regular media sucks these days.

I'm glad that @KoriEllis and LJ are not getting divorced and apparently everything is well (aside from SpursTalk servers).

But what does it mean that y'all don't have anything to do with the servers? Does that mean SpursTalk is not your website anymore? Or you just let someone else be in charge of keeping the website operational but you don't seem to care that it's not? Did you sell it to someone else who has decided to just stop paying the bills?

If that's the case... would you be willing to put us in touch with whoever that person is, if for no other reason than to buy the domain off of them? Can you at least fill us in on what's going on? Last summer someone came in and talked about magical upgrades to the Forum in what became the biggest troll job in history. It was bizarre that we were just completely left in the dark as to what was happening with the site.

No hard feelings of course, I think most of us have nothing but love and appreciation for you and LJ. We shares some good times together, both IRL and online. If SpursTalk isn't in your control anymore and there is nothing you can do... I'd love to have you part of this new site. We moved from Dusty's hellhole together with you and I'd love for you to continue to be with us in one way or another.

I most certainly do not speak for the board... but it would be fun if LJ came here to post his game grades :)
 
Remember that ridiculous post made a year and a half ago or so over there? About how "they", whoever the fuck "they" were, were going to update the servers and new forum software? I'm assuming that person is running the show over there and dropped the ball, shit the bed, and pissed their pants all at once.
 
It’s quite ceremonial with the passing of the torch to the new big 3 of Wemby, Castle and Dylan. The old big 3, Pop, the Admiral, all part of that sweet childhood memories, gone with Spurstalk. Time to create new memories.

I respect your pov but for one only ST political forum became a cesspool, the spurs forum, nfl, football even nba are fine then if the wild west offput some potential "sensitive" new members this is ok in my books. To each on its own... I'll do me and you do you. It exists tons of moderated forum already. I like ST the way it was other than the political forum and the occasional annoying spamming but I just stop reading political shit and use ignore on a couple of posters. The Spurs forum in particular had the right balance and hopefully we can find balance here.

The sad part is the political forum only had like 5-6 regular posters. Basically nothing but Winehole posting articles, a small handful of maga posters thumping their chests and ChumpDumper endlessly going back and forth with them. Probably better for all of them that they can't get their fix now tbh

I'm with you on that one except they will probably find another place to yell at clouds but short term the detox can only be positive
 
I've always been fine with a random insult or moderate name-calling. I just absolutely hated going into a thread about a player and finding out it devolved into pages of people trying to convert others to their point of view (religion or politics). No one is going to change their mind about that stuff on an NBA forum.

TLDR; Bad language is fine, but keep it on topic
 
I had the spurstalk subforum on bookmark, never even browsed outside of it.
A couple of times I went to check the political forum it was full of people that deserve to get insta-bitchslaps irl whenever they open their mouth.

I was posting on those alt.sports.basketball.whatever since the mid 90s. Didn't know about Spursreport, and I think it was around 2005 finals time, I had a summer job in the middle of nowhere (I mean a village of 800 people) that I was so bored I was looking for alternative posting spots that I found Spurstalk. So glad I found the place. Tough to find other Spurs fans where I am at.

TFloss was a big contributor to the College Sports Forum, especially regarding UT football and recruiting news. I'm an Aggie but I loved his information and it will be sorely missed. he brought a lot to the forum.

It's pretty obvious her and LJ quit giving a fuck about it long ago. Im not even sure why LJ bothered with the write ups. He never interacted on them.

My thought is that they sold it. She clearly said they weren’t involved in server management, and was unsure who was.
