Misc The abandoned East European server room of LJ and Kori Ellis

I went back and relayed bloodborne. Finally got around to getting platinum for it. Was the first fromsoft gave I’d played and was pretty fun going back to it for the first time in about 6 years

Next 3 on my list are TLOU2, Demons Souls, then finally Elden Ring
Elden Ring is too big and overflowing.. but it's fun

IDK it's an almost perfect game for me and the size is a big reason why. So much exploration and just loads and loads of boss fights that all play differently. Though I still haven't played the DLC yet.

I'm a seasoned gamer and Elden Ring kicks my ass every time.

Granted, I never did any of the Dark Souls and still haven't gotten used to the game dynamics...but every time I load it up and try to get into it, I just get wrecked and annoyed and turn it off.

I hope you're not trying to fight the Tree Sentinel or that dragon in the lake right off the bat. You're supposed to run from powerful enemies like that early on before you get used to the game and build up your character a bit. Should really focus on trash mobs in the early early game to get block / parry / roll timing down. One other big difference is how much weight you wanna carry. If I'm playing Skyrim I get the best armor and strongest weapon I can get without being over-encumbered, but if you do that in a Souls game you get what's called the fat dodge roll which is slow and almost useless for evading attacks. I think there are like four levels of encumbrance and if you're on one of the last two you're not going to be able to avoid enemy attacks. So in Souls games I always go super light on armor to try to keep a high agility so I can maneuver around and effectively dodge boss attacks. And try to pick weapons that match that play style.

I learned the lesson about the Tree Sentinel real quick lol

But yeah, I think I need to give it another try and re-spec. I came into it after playing games like D4, BG3, and FF7 Rebirth...and it is obviously less forgiving

wild how loyal spurstalk community was even to that relic of a site to the end despite even when that loyalty was taken for granted-almost like someone in an abusive relationship who keeps coming back—. Kudos to this fan base cuz its different.

SpursTalk is already down again it seems. At least DC23 got in just in time to promise some server upgrades.

We did our duty and got the word out as much as we could.
LOL some spammer posted a thread about escorts that was up for like 12 hours. How a once mighty forum has fallen.

NGL, still trying to acclimate to the new look and feel, as well as my resurrection from the dead, but like that Marvel movie said (shoutout to my paisan SR21), Spurstalk is a people not a place. If those fuck stains couldn’t put enough care into having a website that was, you know, online, then fuck em. We don’t need em. Because we have our own … power of friendship.

It's kind of a symbolic end of an era.
Spurstalk goes to the history books alongside Pop and Spurs playoff drought, tbh.

It gets botted to hell, some major work is needed if they're ever to make it stable again. Not worth the trouble, imo.
The only way I'd consider going back is if that major work is done and some of the members from here get admin privileges so we're not left with no updates whenever it decided to shit the bed.

I think it’s over. Don’t think many of us wanna go back to a 2012 web interface.

Too bad whoever owns the domain Spurstalk.com won't sell it to any of yall here to link this site to that domain too.

I was posting on those alt.sports.basketball.whatever since the mid 90s. Didn't know about Spursreport, and I think it was around 2005 finals time, I had a summer job in the middle of nowhere (I mean a village of 800 people) that I was so bored I was looking for alternative posting spots that I found Spurstalk. So glad I found the place. Tough to find other Spurs fans where I am at.
I was starting to think I the only person old enough to remember the Usenet groups. Pretty sure alt.sports.basketball.nba.sa-spurs and rec.sport.basketball.pro were my go-tos back in the day.

The one fellow posting on there is doing some rage bait bullshit. I'd say don't respond to them.

So did you end up getting Bananza? I remember you saying you got a Switch 2.
I did. I played it for a couple hours but I couldn't really get into it. I've been replaying Final Fantasy VI mostly on my Switch 2 :st-lol:
