Starting power forward ideas in the short and long term

Whoever mentioned trading for Sam Hauser from the Celtics. The more I think about it the more I like it. Wouldn't need to move anybody just trade a couple second Rd picks to help Boston save, money.

I think thst would be a great move for the spurs to make before the deadline
It would be a great addition, but here is some food for thought: Keldon Johnson has a larger standing reach than Hauser and weighs more.

Johnson is a 4, and I'm tired of pretending he's not.

If we can get Hauser for 2-3 2nd round picks that's a no-brainer. He'd fit in well and you can never have too many shooters in the playoffs. He's not the answer to our PF woes, but, he'd be a great addition. If we keep our highest 2nd round pick this draft, even better. Do it, RC!

Oscar Wembanyama is 6'8" and is eligible to declare in this years draft... projected 2nd round pick as of now.
Is he actually a legit 2nd round pick, or are they just saying that cause he's Vic's brother?

I don't think Boston will trade him. They need cheap contracts and Hauser is locked into a great deal. They will try to move Simons to get out of the tax.

Might as well trade Jeremy for 2 seconds and pick up Ben Simmons they are the same player but Ben has a better handle.

Throwing shit at the wall to see what sticks:

Blazers:
Sochan
Olynyk
Barnes

Spurs:
Grant
RWIII
2028 swap w/ Blazers/Bucks (Spurs get best pick out of the three)

Originally had it as their 2030 swap to add to the Spurs' roulette with Dallas and Minny but realized Grant's contract was shittier than originally thought.
@DPGSpurs guess it was this thread :st-lol:

I can’t believe I’m saying this as a long time detractor, but Keldon and Harrison might need to switch roles. Harrison is such a terrible rebounder and, now, a bad shooter. It’s hard to justify Harrison’s minutes at this point.

Maybe pull HB at the 8:00 minute mark and play VW with the Big Elote for a bit, then KO. Always have one of VW and Luke on the floor.

Barnes isn't a bad shooter, he's just in a slump. Guy shot out of his mind while carrying a relatively heavy minute load and guarding up a position for his first 100 or whatever games here. It was bound to happen at some point.

The problem is, they can't afford it with their lack of depth at the position and shooting period, especially with Vassell out.

The priority in a four has to be the tandem or size and shooting. This roster can't afford any more poor or non shooters, not even at third center.

What do you guys think about Matkovic? I have hardly watched any Pels games...

I’ve brought him up before as a 3rd C target. Would be a massive upgrade over Biyombo. I’d rate him as bottom tier backup/high end 3rd stringer.

He had a couple of big games against the Austin Spurs last year before being called up. Seems like he's had some good games against our bigs since then.

Nah Keldon is among leaders in the 6th man, and he’s perfect for that energy-off-the-bench player.

Super random necro thread post but I am excited and curious to see what we look like with a pf upgrade
So much that I have been playing 2k26 with a shooting and rebounding power forward, playing with all the young talent on the team.
Helps me live my power forward fantasy lmao

I'm starting to believe that short of a can't miss blue chipper (Boozer, Caleb Wilson) falling in our lap, we're likely to pursue more of a wing-type PF than a "traditional" PF, and I'm okay with that. It certainly opens up more possibilities than being stuck searching for the elusive PF who can shoot-defend-rebound archetype.

I'm pining a bit for Nate Ament presently. It'll probably pass, but he's interesting

I won't really watch any prospects until we are officially eliminated from the playoffs. After 7 years of consuming draft content I'm relieved to finally get to care more about Playoff Contender content
It's how I rock myself to sleep, dreaming about future lotto picks. I should transition to thoughts of beating the Clippers in 5 games in the first round.
