What do you think Wembanyama would fetch in a trade, given that the Spurs have been winning without him/ or with him and very limited minutes from him? Maybe a starting center AND a starting power forward and some draft picks? Sick of watching the Harrison Barnes mediocrity, he was always the worst starter on GSW when they had him back in the day before Durbeta.

Fathead wouldn't be getting a lot of playing time obviously, he'd be a Sochan replacement for the rest of the season tbh. Flip Sochan for a future asset, take on Fathead for a late 2nd.

What is Kyle's defensive level like these days?

Dean Wade and Saddiq Bey seem to be the best options currently. We definitely need a Barnes back up to add some shooting and rebounding. Especially cause he stinks it up in the playoffs more often than not.

I watched the Knicks- Cavaliers game. I think Mitchell Robinson ate Wade for breakfast and got some more offensive rebounds to digest his meal. Don't know how Wade helps over a putrid Sochan.

Wade actually does a really credible job on…Jalen Brunson. He’s quick enough to stay in front of the not so quick Brunson, and his length bothers him.

Yeah. On second thoughts, Mitchell Robinson has beaten almost everyone to an offensive rebound including Wemby.

Wade has a very good defensive EPM, 91st percentile and that makes him a worthy target.

Bey is an interesting depth bet if he can be had for cheap, but he's always had problems with efficiency, defense and availability. I'd look at other options first.

He made a three on 11/30. It’s true he doesn’t take many threes, but he still shoots them in the thirties percent range. Spurs just need a reliable rotation player with size if they are not going to play Sochan. Fathead has good court vision and can set up others.

Spurs are title contenders with or without Wembanyama, he's extremely injury prone and going to inevitably have a short career, and it's quite possible at this stage of his career he could fetch a Herschel Walker haul. The Cowboys had a great rushing attack but weren't winning Super Bowls with Herschel Walker. But the resulting package they got for him were all key cogs in no less than three Super Bowls.

Spurs are title contenders with or without Wembanyama, he's extremely injury prone and going to inevitably have a short career, and it's quite possible at this stage of his career he could fetch a Herschel Walker haul. Basketball is a different beast. It's a strong link sport, that and the salary cap (with a max for each player too) means a 100 dollar bill is worth more than any number of 20s.

There were more than a decent amount who said they’d prefer Ace Bailey pre-draft, and if the gap between Ace and Harp wasn’t so wide - it would have been evenly split 50/50.

Not something we need to spend too much time thinking about at this point... but it would be interesting if Peterson really built a significant gap against the field and we lucked into the #1 pick. At that point, you can't take a 4th guard can you? I'd imagine you'd be able to pick up some nice assets to move down to stay in AJ/Cam/Wilson/Peat range.

I'm just not sure how many of those guys are even solid rotation players on the Spurs, let alone potential starters.

Portis, DFS, O'Neale, and Hauser are the only ones on that list I'd be interested in. I can see each one of these guys contributing in different, albeit significant, ways..

I think the Spurs have a decent chance to get Hauser. Who is having a down year and might be the guy the Celtics let go to get out of the repeater tax issue. Considering his chemistry with Luke Kornet and the fact that he is a movement 3P shooter he will bring something to the Spurs that they dont currently have, I think. We might know only closer to February and would still need Brooklyn to facilitate by taking Sochan..perhaps for the Jazz 2R pick in 2026.

Watch the Jazz game from last night and you‘ll see he can take all the Lindy Waters, Sochan, Carter Bryant minutes, as well as some of the „let me score 3 points in 22 minutes“ playing time from Champagnie and Barnes. You got the IQ of a honey bun.
