If they dont plan to resign Lunch Lady I really do hope they flip him deal at the deadline, even if just to collect a marginally useful player that expires the year after. I wouldnt mind extending HB at good bench player rate, but if they have other plans they should move him too.

For Bey's career, he's at 14.5% on the defensive glass and 9.7% overall.

For context, Barnes is 13.2% and 8.2%.
Johnson is 16.1% and 10.3%.
Champagnie is 14.3% and 8.8%.

These are all typical marks for wings.

Lakers are desperate for defensive wings, I don't think it'd be wise to enter a bidding war for Herb with them.

I'd like to see what they mean by "two first round picks", usually a seemingly high number of picks comes at the cost of pick quality (heavily protected and/or low upside). I doubt we're talking about 2 unprotected picks, but if that were the case then good for them, it's about what we gave up for Fox.

which still would make him the second best rebounder on the team that's not a center. Which also still makes him 95th in the NBA in rebounding and his % is the best on NOLA for non-bigs. Only Missi and Queen are ahead of him. So he is in fact a good rebounder. Your stat actually supports my case.

What about Time Lord for third C? Not sure what POR would want for him. RW for Sochan works in the trade machine for salary purposes... maybe flip POR an SRP or two?

He's a higher level performer than I envisioned for a third C, but he's completely unreliable from a health perspective which means he HAS to be a third C wherever he goes.

He'd be a huge upgrade over Bismack/Sochan C minutes when they get called upon... and I think we need to start accepting the idea that Wemby and Kornet are going to miss games. It's malpractice to not be prepared for that.

Way too expensive for third string. I just look at it as if Wemby gets hurt and has to miss a series the Spurs lose anyways in this conference unless it's an easy first round matchup.

Too expensive in what context? He's a $13.2MM expiring. You already have third stringers Lunch Lady ($13.4MM) and Sochan ($7.1MM) on similar deals. One will get sent out for matching. The money is irrelevant.

Now, if you mean two SRPs is too expensive... since we like to punt those into outer space anyway, I'd disagree.

If Wemby missed a series, yeah we might lose either way... but if a capable backup to Korn Dog is the difference between getting swept in 4 blowouts and losing in 6 in competitive games, the latter has value in providing experience to the rest of the team.

Wright is a complete bonehead about center depth. Last year was insane we didn’t have a 2C. Now we cant muster a 3C.

These are not difficult positions to fill. He has a screw loose.

People saying to me that the 3rd string center won't get minutes and no one that is decent would want to sign on for that role. That might be true, but my question is, have the Spurs even tried to get someone good for that role? If they have and were turned down, OK, but if not, why haven't they tried? Whether it's Kalkbrenner or Raynaud (after Raynaud said he wanted to be in Sacramento and not be third string, why not trade up for Kakbrenner) in this past draft, or current NBA players through trade or FA signing, have they actually tried? Surely they weren't stupid enough to think an upgrade isn't needed and didn't bother trying.

Technically we did not sign KO this past offseason, we acquired him in a trade for Branham and Wesley.

I hear that, but they also went out of their way to trade a combination of smaller expiring (and a SRP) for a larger one. Maybe it was to see if KO still had something to offer, but maybe it was to be able to package again?

I think with KO’s money they’d be able to bring back a player in the $16M range if I’m not mistaken.
