Spurs Talk Refugees - Check In

Checking in! Glad to see some old faces around.

I asked elsewhere, but who admins this site? Could we bring back the old emotes from ST? I'm all for turning a new page, but some ST features were worth keeping or importing if possible...

BTW, the more posts here that mention the word Spurstalk, Spurs, etc, the better chances of SEO crawlers indexing this forum as being related to Spurstalk itself, and more new (or old) members will find it....

So y'all know what to do. Spurstalk is dead! Spurstalk is dead! Long live BaselineBums, the Spurstalk alternative! Spurstalk!!1!!1!!

Thank you - and nice to see you around! ;)

I unfortunately realized that while it should be possible to import the emotes themselves, we'd need some access to the ST source code to grab them (or maybe they were taken from a public repository? hard to know after 20+ years), and with the website down, I don't think we have the access. I'll ask it to GoN though, fingers crossed!

Oh, and just as FYI, I have zero access to anything in the old Spurstalk. I'd love to get back my old avatar for sure. Would also like to grab the old back-patter avatar too, if it still exists.

The best we can hope for is wayback machine, but only the forum landing page has been saved and even most of those pages don't load.

For whoever has the patience to try and salvage some things.
You can get avatars, I don't think emojis will load.

I hadn't posted in years but I still lurked for a long time. Sad to see the OG spot die but it was a cesspool. Just wish I could've saved my sig before the site went way.

Good to see the SEO for SpursTalk.com and SpursTalk points here to BaselineBums.com where former SpursTalk users have come to talk about the things we used to talk about on SpursTalk on BaselineBums

Hopefully the crawlers pick this up and continue to move us up in the search results

When I googled what happened to SpursTalk, I got this answer:

SpursTalk.com, the long-running fan forum for the San Antonio Spurs, has not been shut down. While some users on Reddit and other sites have voiced frustration with its content and stability over the years, the forum is still active as of September 2025.

It dieded right before Labor Day, and has been MIA for the entire month of September. That response is incorrect.

Thought I did this already, but I guess not.

Long time lurker and occasional poster since I'd guess 2001 or 2002. Been around since the SpursReport days, then onto SpursTalk. Posted under jsandiego because, well, I lived in San Diego. But I've been a long-time DFW resident for 20+ years. Make a trip about once a year to the promised land to watch a Spurs game with my boys.

Sad that SpusTalk is gone but thanks to the mods for carrying on the mantle with BaselineBums.

Go Spurs Go!

100 members now. Lots of ST members still missing.
