Spurs Talk Refugees - Check In

Fair point. It’s just so hard to have off topic discussions because some people live their lives completely defined by political allegiance. They can’t keep it out of their mouth.

It bleeds into everything they do. Every decision is predicated on that structure and who they think is in opposition to it.

Then there’s people who aren’t happy unless they’re attacking others within that context.

We’re already seeing what happens when you open the door and let one of those people in.

Not my call but maybe just basketball and the single NFL thread isn’t so bad.
Did I attack you or factually state how ungrateful and intolerant you are? Both are facts.

Either way, let's get back to the Spurs already seeing how the season is right around the corner.

Have we tried recruiting on Facebook or discord? There are a few Facebook groups alone with larger membership than there ever was on SpursTalk in its 20 year history. I’m sure at least a few people would be willing to come check this place out.

A lot of people avoided spurstalk because of those idiots in political forum.
There aren't any good places for in-depth, objective Spurs discussion. Reddit has too many casual homers and RealGM Spurs forum is dead.

This place will get exposure when the season starts if we keep any trolling attempts in check. New people will start joining when they see there's quality discussion going on.
And Spurs will get a lot more popular with the team being competitive again.

Tbh, the best kind of exposure would be if some Spurs journalists see some of the great in-depth posts members in here make and spread the word on their social media.
I've read more quality Spurs-related stuff on ST than anywhere else.

keep NFL in one thread. we all know this isn't a football site, but we should acknowledge we are general sports forum with a specialization on SAS. on ST the subforums moved too slow to warrant recreation.

Honestly, I loved ST because the high quality Spurs content that just isn't present on any other forum. I'm not concerned about recruiting the sniffers who live on Facebook and Reddit, I just want all the old regulars from ST so we can continue with smart basketball discussion. If we can do that without the racism and trolling, then people will eventually find their way.

It seems like 80% of the community has already found there way... hopefully the last few stragglers will too. I sent some of them DMs, but honestly they may have given up hope on ST after it was down for so long.

He was probably flagged for approval, it happened to a few of us (scott and I and someone else at least) and it probably has to do with IP / VPN / email settings.

@Guru of Nothing please check this out

For some reason it took me a few attempts for me to actually receive the email link. After like the 5th time I got it and was able to post
