Spurs let another shitty team back into the game

Did they win?
You realize they were playing an NBA team and not a Chinese team? You realize its an 82 game season?
Crazy how much people here love to freak out. Title does say it all, you don't understand NBA basketball.

Oh, they let an NBA team get close, but out scored them down the stretch to get the win without a Top5 player. Shame, they should blow it the fuck up, they are garbage. They should tank.
 
Almost wonder if the coaches are letting team back in so they can test the team under pressure. That would be a crazy scheme even early in the season. If this the case, the team is letting the other team get way too comfortable during these attempts.

We not a full season removed from the being the shitty team that was let back into the game tbh
 
They will but who cares either way? By an inch or by a mile, a win is a win.

Man, I just don't want to see TMIII anymore. Your boy is absolutely killing us. I keep wavering on him thinking he's not that good after seeing them lose all the time when they're not playing the Spurs, then when they play the Spurs, I keep wanting to trade for TMIII right after the game. I don't know if a part of it is the Spurs team defense making him look even better, or if he's playing with a bit extra against the Spurs. Either way, he's a darn good player.

It’s okay to be frustrated by the team’s lack of consistency without jumping off the cliff. No one’s suggesting they blow it up. Settle the fuck down, Beavis.

Mitch said the same god damn thing in his press conference. I guess he doesn’t know basketball either.

I think this is the best take in the thread. Nicely done.

I will say though that there is reason to believe the Spurs would have been more consistent than they’ve shown so far. I’m frustrated by the team’s lack of focus, especially in the third quarter. They have really got to get better at closing bad teams out. Their record in clutch games is saving their bacon right now, but they’re clearly not in OKC’s league yet.

And another thing. Blowout wins are not uncommon in the NBA so don’t act like it’s unreasonable to expect one every now and then.

The Spurs are a much better team than the pelicans and they should’ve blown them out. They had a 25 point lead and let the one of the worst teams in the NBA come back and take the lead with less than a minute to play.
 
It's who they played. When you're up 25 against the team with one the worst record in the NBA (I think the Wizards are worse as even though they have a similar record, Pelicans are probably better than their record due to Zion missing games), it's not good letting them come all the way back and take the lead. They almost won the game. It also sounded like the Pelicans have been a lot more competitive their past few games, so they were playing better going into that Spurs game. Anyway, I'll take any win right now. Very happy to get the win as that's always more preferable to learn with a win than a loss as Sean likes to say.

To be fair with OP Pelicans are among the worst in the league playing without Zion.. Spurs should have won dat one with more ease for sure even without Victor. Defense has been horrible tbh
 
Pelicans games have been a bit more physical than other games officiated this season. I thought Vassell played incredibly poor on defense which led to several points in the lane. I think they (spurs) were not communicating well out there. Castle was wide ass open at the elbow 3 one position with Olynyk missing the outlet pass took Fox resetting before he saw him and feed him the ball with a pass a little low but castle recovered it well enough and nailed the 3.

Queen made some crazy hail Mary looks that I didn't think would fall, got away with a blatant charge into Korndog, but still overall he looked really good out there finding his shots.

Only time he looked to have trouble was when a faster player body him up before he could get 18ft in. Castle on one or two plays, Carter on another. Even then he made difficult shots. Last night was just Queens night.
 
They're a very young talented team with very with a big four that has near zero experience outside of Fox. To be expected. Playoffs will be a rough learning experience in late game execution for this club. Enjoy the ride. This team is a year away from being a legit championship contender.
